When you bring in hundreds of Land Cruisers, you know when you have a special one. Optioned with the gutty 3.0L 1KZ-TE, a manual gearbox, and the factory diff locker this one is undoubtedly the enthusiast's special. Finished in a classic Dark Blue Pearl Metallic over Oyster Pearl Two Tone (27Z), the body and paint are in good shape aside from some light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Adorned by a polished factory brush guard, this recently serviced rig is offered with a mere 138k verified and documented miles. Spacious, capable, reliable, and collectible, it's hard to deny this iconic Land Cruiser is anything but a Japanese Classic!

The cabin is in above average condition overall and was cared for in a prior life. It even has the original owner's manuals still sitting in the glove box. The view of the road ahead is clear and commanding. The dash has two minor hairline cracks of note around an inch in length, but they are tough to find unless you're searching for them. The OEM audio system works nicely and the climate system located below is simple to use and intuitive. Cold A/C and piping hot heat are on hand so those inside can get comfy, regardless of the weather conditions outside. The upholstery looks incredible after 25 years of use, from the front on back to the third row. The blue and gray pattern breaks up the cabin's dour color palette and lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. The carpet, door cards, and headliner have resisted major abuse as well. The driver benefits from power windows and locks to make daily use enjoyable and a tilt steering column. Best of all, this SX includes the rare third row. In a pinch, you can fit two additional folks inside raising the capacity to seven. As impressive as the cabin is, it's not perfect and we wanted to note some plastic wear on the driver door card and that the side mirrors are no longer powered. Still at this age, it's obvious this SX was loved overseas in Japan.

The mechanicals are sturdy and simple and these trucks are easy to work on. Powered by the legendary 1KZ-TE, this powerplant is fresh off an oil and filter service. Two new 12v batteries aid ignition and the 3.0L idles with confidence. A professionally rebuilt ECU, with a lifetime warranty, keeps the electronics honest and will save the next owner some money on this commonly needed service item. The four-cylinder is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and a selective transfer case. Thanks to a new shifter assembly the gearbox feels notchy and communicative for a truck and gives the driver more control than a model equipped with a slushbox. From the cabin, the driver can lock the hubs electronically and engage a rear locker and low-speed gearing when the going gets tough. The brakes are confident and the power steering is light making daily use less taxing. The suspension provides plenty of ground clearance and handles large and small road imperfections without breaking a sweat. The OEM alloy wheels are all wrapped in new 31" Falken all-terrain rubber. The new shoes match the tough-guy aesthetic and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come providing all the grip you need. We even replaced the spare, to boot!
