The 70 Series is a dashing, capable, and collectible overland beast. Blending a modern interior and old-school styling, this tough 4x4 is powered by one of the most reliable turbodiesels ever produced by Toyota. Redone in stunning Vermillion Red (A82) this brute is set off by an upgraded front bumper, Front Runner roof ladder, OEM rainguards, and an aftermarket rear bumper with integrated spare tire swingarm. To complete the package a set of Fuel alloys were installed, and aside from a few dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use, the paint is no worse for the wear and in good shape. This 1995 boasts a highly desirable third row and a spacious cabin chock full of upgrades. At only 147k verified and documented miles, this recently serviced rig is turn key and ready to roll. Wonderful as daily drivers, weekend escape vehicles, and family haulers these Land Cruisers are the real deal. Japanese Classics this cool don't come around too frequently, and this unique Prado drives every bit as good as it looks !
Once inside the cabin, you can appreciate the impressive amount of head, shoulder, and legroom. The truck rides above traffic and delivers decent visibility all around. Unlike many of these we see, the dash lacks any cracking or distortion. Cold A/C can be accessed through the OEM control panel mounted centrally, and a USDM Bluetooth headunit can be dialed in to pump in the tunes! The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and electric lumbar support. The electric equipment doesn't stop there and power windows, door locks, and mirrors all make daily use more enjoyable. Even the prized electric sunroof option was ticked, and it works like a charm. It adds loads of natural light and ventilation to the cabin, and is a must-have for many! The textured tan upholstery is in good shape overall. It lacks any major rips, stains, or tears and is trimmed in the same material as the door cards. The third row adds two additional spots to ride along and folds away into the D-pillar conveniently when not in use. The headliner does have a few minor scuffs, and the carpet has some light staining, but it's really hard to complain about the cockpit otherwise.
The mechanicals are simple, sturdy, and built to endure the test of time. It all starts up front with Toyota's nearly bulletproof 1KZ-TE. This 3.0L turbo diesel mill is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up promptly with the twist of the key. A new fuel filter strains contaminants out of the diesel, and the Prado runs seamlessly and pulls strong up to redline. This truck is capable of sustained highway use and is peppy around town, too. A slick-shifting automatic is mated to a selective transfer case. Low range can be engaged if you're on snow or sand and these rugged Prado make great winter vehicles. The brakes are confident and the power steering is somewhat light, making parking a snap. One of our trained techs has added an Old Man Emu steering damper to steady the steering feel on less-than-ideal pavement. The suspension has received a refresh thanks to new shocks, and the J78 feels confident even on rougher pavement. The tires are knee-deep in tread and a fresh alignment and state safety inspection were then performed, so she can hit the road immediately!
