Toyota's midship runabout two-seater laughs in the face of exotics quadruple its price, and maintains the same level of staunch Toyota reliability while doing so! An affordable solution to the coveted mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout, our 1995 G limited is a fantastic example of the chassis and this sleek sports coupe has racked up a scant 82k verified and documented miles from new. Finished in Toyota Black (202), the exterior shows nicely and is accented by an OEM front lip, rear spoiler, and a tasteful set of multipiece Enkei alloys. Save for a prior replacement of the front left fender, the exterior is still a handsome looker overall and should stand out in a sea of drab commuters. Those who have never experienced MR2 ownership should believe the hype. It's nimble, well built, and most importantly, a killer value for a certified Japanese Classic!

Like the exterior, the interior is purpose-built and utilizes quality materials. The switchgear is all at hand and a Sparco steering wheel is a slim and comfortable upgrade over stock. The seats are upholstered in a durable patterned cloth and have resisted any serious wear and tear over the past 29 years aside from some crinkles along the seams. The bolstering is strong and sturdy, and you need not worry about sloshing around the cabin on a spirited drive. The dash is free of cracks, fading, or UV distortion, and the center stack frames upgraded Pioneer audio and an easy-to-use climate control system to keep the drive comfortable for all. If natural ventilation from the power windows isn't your thing, Cold A/C works in a pinch, and hot heat isn't too far behind for fall and winter commutes. Additionally, the power locks and power-folding mirrors work just fine. Storage space is sufficient, and the cockpit features a few hidey holes to stash your personal belongings. Additionally, the trunk and hood offer a bit of extra real estate for your luggage and groceries. The door cards, headliner, and carpets are all in above-average shape and even the owner's manual is included with the SW20's purchase.

The 3S-GE engine is a well-supported unit here in the States and is rather rewarding to drive too! Our trained technicians got down and dirty completing a comprehensive timing belt and water pump service on this 2.0L, and we've done loads of other good maintenance too! The Mr2 cranks right over care of a new 12v battery and we performed a fresh oil and filter service to keep this one topped up on lubricant. Additional measures to seal this one up against unwanted leaks include a new valve cover gasket, and we installed a new oil pump gasket while we were in there performing the timing work. A new engine air filter and fuel filter keep any unwanted contaminants out of the 3S, and lastly, a new thermostat was installed to get this one properly up to temp. With the maintenance performed the 3S-GE is a zippy little mill and the 5-speed manual gearbox it's mated to is the perfect companion. A Fujitsubo exhaust amplifies the exhaust note and this four-banger makes all the right noises without being too overbearing. Power is hammered down to the rear wheels and the aftermarket coilovers make this coupe easy to control in the twisties. The brakes are responsive, the power steering is direct, and finally, we wrapped the Enkeis in fresh Falken rubber. The new all seasons look good, grip strong, and should deliver tens of thousands of comfortable miles to come!
