The JZX90 platform is impressive, even compared to sports sedans manufactured today. The formula was simple, a powerful yet refined bi-turbo engine, rear-wheel drive, a rigid chassis. This 1995 Mark II Tourer V is offered with only 112K verified miles and is finished an understated Opal White Pearl (046). The OEM aero is particularly tasty, accented by Lexus alloy wheels and dark privacy tint. Boasting a few performance upgrades, and a slate of recent maintenance items, this legally-imported turn-key sporty saloon would make a great vehicle to daily drive or use as a weekend toy!

The interior accommodations are impressive, and Toyota used some decent quality materials. Of note are some rarely seen items, including keyless entry, polished factory sill plates, a power sunroof, and drivers SRS airbag. Other power items include functional power-folding mirrors, power door locks, and a one-touch window. The dash is in good shape, lacking any major holes or cracks. A tilting and telescoping steering driver can fit drivers of all sizes, and a set of aluminum pedals dresses up the aesthetic. A Blitz boost gauge sits atop it, keeping an eye on intake pressures and is one of the only interior upgrades we found. The automatic climate system works as it should, and cold air emits from the a/c currently, which is important in the midst of summer. And while the head unit is no longer powered, the rest of the interior has been kept up otherwise. The headliner, carpets and door cards are all in good shape. The seats are bolstered well, so long trips can be had in comfort. The cabin has seating for five, and the bluish-gray cloth is still soft to the touch and lacks any major imperfections such as rips, stains, or tears. The trunk is sizable in the Mark II,  and the boot carpet is still present. A cupholder up front sits in front of a sizable center console if additional storage is needed in the cabin and the passenger side glove box still contains the factory owners manual!

The engine is sublime, and there is no other way to put it. The 2.5L straight-six 1JZ-GTE makes plenty of reliable power, and sounds good doing it! Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 1J cranks over quickly and sets into a near vibration-free idle. Benefitting from a new air filter, the short ram intake does a wonderful job of showcasing all those turbo sounds that make you smile! The torque is prolific and the JZX90 accelerated like a freight train. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a stout automatic gearbox. The transmission shifts well for a 25-year-old unit and is geared for US interstate speeds. An electronic boost controller is available for tuning if desired, but straight-line performance is more than adequate in our opinion. The reduced fender gap not only looks good, but the handling is noticeably improved over stock, thanks to a set of Tein dampers. These adjustable units reduce body roll and allow this sedan to stay planted in the curves. The brakes are tidy and the steering smooth, making this a decent option for a daily. New tires are mounted on the OEM Lexus GS optional alloy wheels, ready to handle an immediate summer road trip if desired.
