This 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SX turns more heads than imports twice its price! The styling is seemingly lifted out of the blockbuster Rambo, with its angular fenders it looks like a G-Wagen if you squint hard enough. Best of all, this 4x4 rig features an efficient and reliable 1KT-ZE turbodiesel to provide propulsion, and running costs are known to be a fraction of the aforementioned German ute. Redone in one-off Jet Black and accented by a set of tinted rain guards, the body is in good shape aside from some minor dings and chips associated with normal use. Freshly serviced and legally imported this 201K verified mile, three-row truck, is a capable Japanese Classic you won't want to miss out on!

The cabin is simple, spacious, and includes a bunch of upgrades. Our favorite touch is the leather seat covers that were fitted in all three rows. They look like factory leather, are in good shape, and offer the ability for a quick cleanup. Power equipment is plentiful as the Prado includes functional power windows, locks, and mirrors. The old radio was tossed out in favor of a touchscreen Mistubishi unit. This new display even includes Bluetooth connectivity and the sound quality isn't half bad. The manual climate system is easy to use and operates fine at the moment. The door cards, carpets, and headliner have been looked after well over the years and lack any major imperfections. That not to say the interior is perfect as we did want to note some cracking beginning on the dashboard. Still, overall, the condition is impressive and we have even included the original owner's manual in the glovebox for originality's sake.

The underpinnings are simple in a good way and likely the reason this truck has been in production for so long. Built the old school way, with a body on frame chassis, this Prado SX is built to take a licking and keep on tickin'. The engine fitted in the mid-nineties examples is Toyota's formidable 3.0L turbodiesel. Fresh off an oil and filter service she starts up promptly thanks to a new 12V battery. It idles confidently and is connected to an automatic transmission with overdrive. This nearly 5,000-pound behemoth actually scoots pretty well with the large four-banger so getting up to highway speeds isn't an issue. The gearbox shifts as it should and for maximum fuel economy we advise using 2WD. The selective transfer case also allows for the driver to actuate 4WD low and high with a cockpit mounted lever. Electronic HUB-lock is also standard if you get caught in some really inclement weather or encounter some tricky loose surfaces. The suspension takes large and small bumps with ease and doesn't beat up the passengers like some of the smaller SUVs we sell. The long-wheelbase is also beneficial on long highway cruises as the platform seems more stable at higher speeds. Power steering makes parking a snap and the brakes are confident slowing this Prado down to more manageable speeds. The wheels are all wrapped in good all-season rubber that can take on the worst of this remaining winter weather.
