Other than some minor dings, chips, and scuffs the body is in good shape for its age. Featuring a host of recent maintenance items, and some pricey interior upgrades, this Japanese transporter is an incredible value and can be utilized year-round!

The cabin is impressive to anyone used to American vans. Spacious, thoughtful, and ergonomic this rig is in wonderful shape. The view of the road ahead is clear and the tall ride height gives a commanding view of the road ahead. The dash is in good shape and lacks any major imperfections such as cracking or distortion. Dual-zone climate control is equipped and includes rear seat a/c and heat. The OEM audio was ditched for a Kenwood unit. It sounds decent and looks impressive compared to what it replaced. Faux wood accents dot the front trim and a sizable center stage storage bin is centrally located. Power windows, locks, and mirrors. are standard and they still work. The driver seat is powered but only the back adjusts at this point, it no longer slides fore and aft. The Cool and Hotbox center console is perhaps the most impressive feature keeping the occupant's beverages at the proper temperature. Behind the driver and passenger is an expansive cargo area. The middle row swivels and adjusts a multitude of ways for some flexible seating options. Looking upward it's impossible to miss a massive power-retractable sunroof. The electric unit goes so far back it feels like a convertible and provides some natural ventilation. A manual front sunroof is complimentary as well, although it's a more common size. The carpets and door cards are in good nick as is the headliner. The seating surfaces front the front of the van to the back are clean and lack any major imperfections such as rips, holes or tears. The gray cloth is still soft to the touch and comfortable over long cruises. Rear privacy window inserts keep prying eyes off cargo in the back and additional cupholders are found at every spot in the van.

The mechanicals are related to the Hiace model however a host of safety improvements were made on the Granvia for the Japanese market. The cab-over design was revised to a semi-bonneted one with a more extensive crash structure upfront. Additionally, dual SRS front airbags are standard. The bonnet opens to reveal the 3RZ-FE four-cylinder. This engine displaces 2.7L and is fresh off an oil and filter service. It starts up with the twist of a key and sets into a quiet idle. Mated to an automatic gearbox, the transmission sends power to all four wheels. The gearbox shifts without any issues and is geared well for our higher interstate cruising speeds. The van doesn't pin you to the seat but never seems to struggle to safely merge or drum up some additional passing power. The suspension is stable at high speeds, even with the low profile tires, offers a comfortable ride if you're planning is to daily drive this one. The power steering is light and makes parking stress free. The braking system fees confident and the Work Eurolines are all wrapped in new rubber at all four corners. The 18" all-season Falkens will provide plenty of grip in all types of weather conditions and should last for years to come. They also do a good job of reducing interior noise, vibration and harshness levels. 

This Granvia is an incredible buy for what it is. Comfortable, durable, and capable this four-wheel drive Toyota is the real deal and a certified Japanese Classic.
