1995 Subaru WRX STi Type RA
The well-known WRX Impreza is one of the most desired models in the Subaru lineup. With the signature hood scoop, big wing, and gold wheels, this 1995 WRX STi RA checks all the boxes for a fun-sized sedan. Finished in a beautiful Glacier White (230) and a set of 16" Gold BBS RGS (OEM Subaru) wheels, it will almost be impossible to find this setup and color combination in today's market. An optional front lip shows some rock chips, but the overall body condition is good. Even better, this STi RA has a mere 70K verified/documented miles. The exterior has been refinished in the original color, but the paint isn't perfect although it does show quite well. A truly inspired rally race car with an OEM roof scoop to allow fresh air to access the cabin, the desirable late model front end, and late-model STi spoiler finishing off the rear end to complete the outer esthetics. A rally-inspired STi RA with excellent miles makes this one desirable Japanese Classic!
The inside of the cabin is raw and ready for the road (or dirt) ahead. The seats are fitted with a two-tone light grey color combination throughout both rows. The driver seat has red accents on the shoulder support area and is showing a few minimal wear spots on the bolsters. The windows, locks, and mirrors are all manual and there is no radio in the center either so you can easily hear all the turbo noises. The dash shows no cracks or rips but a little bit of sun damage on the driver's side near the window, which we wanted to note. The previous owner did equip this car with a few aftermarket gauges, other than the ones that came with the car. You will find an Apexi Exhaust temperature gauge, as well as the OEM oil pressure, boost, volt, water temperature, and a Techtom MDM-100 display on the dash. The headliner is clean and clear of any rips or stains, and you also have a functional roof scoop to allow a breeze inside this road-legal race car.
The powerplant behind this Impreza is the closed deck Ej20G engine matted with the 5-speed manual transmission. It is such a stout engine to start a solid build or to enjoy in its stock form. The gears are seamless when shifting and there is no slop or play giving you solid placement when you put it in gear. The suspension chosen is a set of aftermarket coilovers that is stiff, yet responsive. Other added suspension upgrades include Cusco front and rear lower subframe braces and Cusco rear member bushings to reduce body roll. This STi RA turns on a dime and is track and backroad ready when you want to open her up. The power band is exciting all the way up to the 7500 rpm redline and the ARC intercooler keeps temps low. The clutch is not stock and is a tad aggressive, but when you are pushing the limits, it definitely does its job supporting the power sent to all four corners. The DCCD is adjustable and has a display gauge that is fully functional. A cat-back exhaust firing out the back sounds fantastic but were unable to see any brand names marked on it. Four brand new tires were added upon its time through our shop and grips the road nicely. An oil and filter service was performed on the aftermarket relocation kit, and a new 12V battery fires you up for the next few years. If you are in the market for a rare STi RA sedan that packs a punch of fun, look no further.
