Nissan's approach to luxury is best summed up by cars like this 1995 President. A powerful V8, long wheelbase, and rear-drive gave it a dual purpose; as a luxury car or as a dedicated limousine. This example has been refinished in a one-off Arctic White and includes an Impul front bumper, side skirts, and rear aero. Accented by polished factory rain guards, and a set of Crimson Club Linea alloys, the body is in good shape other than some minor dings and scuffs associated with normal use. Offered with a mere 98k verified miles, this recently serviced and legally imported sedan is packed with tons of power options and pricey upgrades!

The interior is the highpoint of this Sovereign trim example, with the seats trimmed in a custom black leather to contrast the exterior. The dimpled, custom embroidered skins lack any major imperfections such as holes, rips, and tears. The dash is in good nick, lacking any major imperfections like cracks or distortion from sun damage. An analog clock sits atop the dash as well as a standard digital climate system. We have recharged the A/C and the heat works well for the upcoming winter months. The switchgear is all at hand, and for nighttime driving, the vehicle was upgraded to HID headlamps. Power equipment includes cruise control, dual power front seats, and a tilting and telescoping wheel. The electric windows, locks, and power-folding mirrors are also standard and function properly. The driver can press a button on the passenger seat, for the headrest to fold down and the seat to tuck-in closely to the dash for the rear occupant to relax. In the back, behind the aforementioned chauffeur style front seat, an ottoman drops down to improve the ergonomics. The rear center armrest drops down to reveal a control panel, and what a sweet surprise it is. The rear occupant can adjust the digital climate control, enact rear-seat heat, and play with the standard television. Best of all, additional control for a power rear reclining bench is included, and you can fall asleep in comfort on a long road trip. The carpets are clean, and the door cards and headliner have also been well cared for.

The Japanese model Presidents came with some impressive running gear, although they share many components with the US Infiniti Q45, making ownership bearable. The engine Nissan chose for this land yacht was the VH45DE. This cutting edge V8 featured variable cam timing and made an abundance of power uncommon at the time. Fresh off an oil and filter service, she fires up quickly with the twist of the key thanks to a new 12V battery. A polished exhaust frees up some ponies and delivers a mellow and unobtrusive tone. Mated to an automatic transmission, power is sent to the rear wheels seamlessly. The gearbox is perfect for commuting and fairly responsive for a vehicle of this size. The ride quality isn't half bad even though it rides on a set of JIC adjustable coilovers. The brakes are confident and the steering is light and easy to articulate despite its size. The 20" alloys are wrapped in new rubber all around that should last for miles to come while also quieting down the ride immensely.

This Nissan VIP sedan really is one of a kind. It would make for a killer weekend cruiser with its distinct styling, plentiful features, and pricy upgrades. Don't let this smooth-riding Japanese Classic getaway, as these are tough to find!
