Stock #5709
Stock #5709The 80 series is one of our favorite SUV's here at the dealership. Its durable body on frame design, cavernous interior, and unstoppable drivetrain are just a few reasons we endorse this platform so heavily, and with a buttery smooth turbodiesel inline 6 under the bonnet investing in one of these is a no brainer! Finished in a one-off Aegean Bronze Metallic, the exterior on our 1995 VX-L turns heads no matter which way you look at it and is fortunately free of any major defects outside of some typical light chips in the paintwork, and we wanted to note a previous replacement of the hood and windshield in Japan. Set off by a 2" suspension lift, refinished factory alloys, and juicy 33" Falken All Terrains, this Cruiser is set up to tackle any terrain and the 157k miles on the clock indicate this diesel is just getting broken in. An untamed beast on or off the pavement, you can't go wrong with this Japanese Classic HDJ81!The interior on this VX-L is fully optioned out and offers a host of amenities and creature comforts to make driving a pleasure for whoever gets behind the wheel. Less commonly seen in our stateside offerings, the cloth upholstery on the seats assumes an almost suede-like finish and was clearly well cared for over the years as it lacks any serious rips, stains, or other miscellaneous bolster wear. Additionally, the vinyl dash has fought off any typical age related cracking or distortion and the factory materials are soft to the touch throughout. Nestled in the lower dash trim, automatic climate control is within arm's reach and Eclipse audio is positioned below for anyone who enjoys a soundtrack tailored to their drive. As expected from a turn-key cruiser, the A/C blows ice cold and hot heat makes this one a no-brainer for the occasional winter warrior as well. For daily use, a full slate of power amenities is a must, and all power windows and locks, and electric mirrors work as advertised. Additionally, a power moonroof can unfurl at the push of a button should you prefer some natural ventilation in the cabin. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column, and a classy woodgrain steering wheel is a formidable upgrade over the clunky and defect prone factory unit. The rear cargo area is cavernous, and the middle row can be folded fully forward to maximize cargo capacity if need be. Providing the icing on the cake, a factory field monitor sits snugly beneath the headliner and works like a charm for any aspiring off roaders. Overall, this cabin should satisfy all its occupants without fail, save for a missing center console lid, and based on its condition it's clear this one was cared for in a prior life as well. Ask any Land Cruiser enthusiast and they'll describe tales of the legendary 4.2 turbodiesel I6 sadly withheld from our stateside market. Fortunately, this 80 series has it, and in refreshed 24 valve trim to boot! With such a rare powerplant, a full service was in order when it arrived to our shop, and we've knocked out an extensive initial service to ensure you'll be able to enjoy the drive from day one! 2 new 12v batteries were installed to aid ignition, and a new alternator and serpentine belts keep all your accessories driven reliably. A full coolant flush was performed to assist thermal management, and the engine air filter and diesel fuel filter were replaced as a bit of a preemptive tune-up. With the maintenance performed, this one runs healthy as a horse and the turbocharger provides the grunt needed pull this rig to highway speeds without hesitation. Full-time 4WD works like a charm and low gearing is on standby if an off road excursion is in the cards. To keep the ride comfortable, two new shock bushings were installed in the front, and this one sails over harsh road imperfections while feeling well composed overall. The brakes do a swell job at reeling this barge in from higher speeds, and the fresh rubber pays dividends on nearly any road surface.*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
