Sometimes your best ability is your availability, and when you need a reliable truck you needn't look much farther than a tried and true Toyota. This 1995 Toyota Hilux comes with a trusty four-banger diesel engine and a 4WD system to take you anywhere. Finished in Aztec Blue (8E3) this five-seater is offered with a mere 119K verified miles. Adorned by a polished OEM bullbar and rain guards, the body is in good shape other than some small dings and scratches associated with normal use. Freshly serviced and legally imported this Japnese Classic truck is ready and eager to tackle our American highways and byways.

The cabin is spacious and simple, with a few power options that make daily use tolerable. The Hilux comes standard with power windows, locks, and mirrors. Even the rear window rolls down for a bit more breeze if you need it. One of the most desirable options that Toyota offered with the Surf was a power sunroof and our example has it, and it's operational. Additionally, Toyota fashioned automatic climate control and the A/C works as it should. OEM audio is still working, and the clarity isn't half bad. The seats are upholstered in blue and gray textured cloth. They are soft to the touch and in good shape lacking any major rips, stains, or tears. The door cards match and are in equally good nick although the dash does have some cracks and there is some light staining of the carpet. All in all, it's obvious that this car was cared for back in Japan, and compared to US models, is in much better shape.

The driveline is known for being stout and sturdy. Powered by a 3.0L 1KZ-TE turbodiesel, this rig is fast and efficient as well. The four-banger is fresh off an oil and filter service and runs like a champ. Startup is brisk and our trained technicians have installed two new 12V batteries to make sure she has enough cold cranking amps to handle the upcoming winter. Mated to an automatic gearbox, the Hilux features a selective transfer case so the driver can choose two or four-wheel drive. Acceleration is brisk and the truck shifts properly and is geared for highway use if necessary. The suspension feels planted and the brakes are assured. The power steering is power-assisted and the Hilux is easy to park compared to larger SUVs. The brakes feel good and can handily stop this midsize Ute without breaking a sweat. The wheels are all wrapped in new Falken rubber at all four corners. They are grippy, look intimidating, and can handle all the sleet, snow, and sand you can throw at them. We have even replaced the spare tire as well for posterity.
