The MR2 has the same MR (Mid Engine/ Rear Drive) drive train layout typically reserved for more expensive, exotic cars. Coupled with Toyota's legendary reliability, this sleek mid-engine coupe offers a rewarding drive, great fuel economy, and low cost of ownership. Finished in one of the MR2's most desirable colors, Super Red II (3E5), over silver 16" Violenti alloys, this car is impossible to miss. The body has been well preserved,is free of any notable dents or dings, and the sheen from the clear coat dances off direct sunlight nicely.

The interior has received a few light upgrades, just as the rest of the car has. The steering wheel has been upgraded to a Momo 3 spoke smaller diameter steering wheel. It's red accents dress up the darker interior, and pair nicely with the red leather reclining bucket seats. Both seats are in great shape, sans some natural fading, and the leg support and bolstering is premium in feel. The rest of the interior has been left unmodified, and is in good shape, other than lack of a head unit. Both seats, door cards, and carpeting are free of any stains or markings. While the cabin is snug, two removable T-tops bring in some natural light, and make the cockpit feel roomier. Of note, the opaque covers for the T-Tops are included in this sale. Being the G-Limited several power accessories were standard options. The power windows, locks, mirrors, and folding features are all function as they should. The air conditioning and heat are in fine working shape, as well. The low cowl, sloping glass, and optional cornering fog lamps, make for above average visibility during night or day.

Mechanically there have been quite a few nice additions made. Power comes from the mid mounted, two liter, 3S-GE. With only 58K unverfied miles, this little two liter is just barely broken in. While the naturally aspirated motor does lack the horsepower of its turbo stable mate, it does provide incredible throttle response and mid range punch. Fitted with an Tanabe Sustec Header, and a Departure stainless mufflers, the 1998cc mill makes all the right noises. The tone is aggressive on startup and only gets better the more you put your foot down. Even in colder climates, the newly installed 12V battery will provide plenty of juice to get the starter turning during the last few cold snaps of the year. The 5 speed feels great and has an easy clutch engagement; we have noted a small hitch in third gear, and have performed a transmission service with Redline MT-90 fluid to quell the issue. Power steering, a rare option, is functional and the car effortlessly turns into corners, with plenty of feedback. The suspension is stock, and supple, taking large bumps without issue. Best of all, new tires have been mounted and balanced at all four corners, to ensure the next owner has adequate all season traction. Lastly an oil service has been performed, so no routing maintenance will be needed for the next three thousand miles.
