This 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is poised to take you anywhere you like, may it be Overlanding or driving off the beaten path. Powered by a brutey 3.0L turbodiesel, and with room for seven, this old school rig is in good shape both mechanically and cosmetically. Finished in a Green/Gray (24V) two-tone, and featuring OEM rain guards and polished side mirrors, the body is in good shape other than some minor dings and scuffs. Legally imported, and recently serviced this 4x4 Japanese 'ute is the real deal.

The interior condition is impressive and this Prado even includes the factory manuals, spare key, and carpet mats for originality's sake. It's by no means perfect as the head unit no longer works and the dash does have a few cracks. Even with those imperfections, it's obvious that this car was cared for. Take the seats for instance, which are upholstered in a soft textured gray coth. They are bolstered nicely and particularly comfy for long cruises. Best of all the third row is still installed and folds up nicely against the D pillar in case you need a larger cargo area. The rear barn doors open wide, and the loading area is quite impressive. The headliner, door cards, and carpeting are all in great shape showing only minor signs of wear. The A/C blows cold and a manually adjustable climate control system is standard and works as it should. Power equipment includes factory electric locks, mirrors, and one-touch windows. They work properly and combined with a tilt wheel can comfortably seat drivers of all sizes. Lastly, the OEM halogen lights have been replaced with LEDs so the road ahead is illuminated much better at nighttime.

Body on frame SUVs are becoming increasingly uncommon nowadays. This Prado SX, however, is built in this style and is much more capable than these tall sedans masquerading as crossovers. Under the bonnet rests Toyota's trusty 1KZ-TE. This 3.0L turbodiesel benefits from a fresh oil and filter service, and doesn't require scheduled service for another three thousand miles. While the cluster reads 94K miles it was not verified prior to leaving Japan. Based on the overall condition it seems hard to believe that it's far off but technically has to be sold as unknown. The four-banger fires to life quickly compliment of two new 12V batteries. They should last for the next four years, and handle the cold winter ahead. Ignition is quick, and the engine is mated to an automatic gearbox and selective 4WD. The transmission shifts as it should, and lacks any hesitation. While 2WD will deliver the best fuel economy, the Prado also has a low gear setting if you happen to encounter some rough weather. The power steering works, and the brakes feel confident enough to stop this heavy sled down without cause for concern. The suspension is robust and easy to work on and takes potholes like a champ. The factory wheels are wrapped in new all-season tires and our trained technicals have even done the spare as well.
