Interior Overview

The interior is spacious and simple, with abundant head and legroom. It’s also in above-average condition and was clearly cared for overseas. This is confirmed by the lack of a badly cracked dash and the lack of sun fading on the seats. Sure, there are a few tiny cuts in the vinyl, but as a whole, they don’t typically look this good! The upholstery is also above average and lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. The middle row can tumble forward, and the rear row can be stowed against the D-pillar to maximize cargo room.  The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column, adjustable lumbar support, and an inflatable hip bolster to find the perfect driving position. You can see above traffic with this truck’s tall ride height, and the Peyton steering wheel feels perfect in the palms of your hands. The center stack includes functional OEM audio and a simple-to-use manual climate control system. The air conditioner is ready to handle the summer swelters ahead, and the heat keeps the cabin nice and toasty on colder days. If you prefer more natural ventilation, a large power moonroof unfurls and the rear quarter glass butterflies outward to provide a light breeze. The door cards, carpets, and headliner have withstood the past three decades without sustaining major abuse. Mechanical Overview

This is a real deal SUV. Body-on-frame and built to last, the sturdy underpinings can withstand loads of abuse. The same can be said for the legendary powerplant, the 1KZ-TE. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 3.0L chugs to life care of two new 12V batteries. A new fuel filter was installed, like every diesel we retail, and one of our trained techs has refreshed the 1K with a new valve cover gasket and half moon seal. The four-banger pulls hard to redline and is healthy as a horse. It’s mated to a stout automatic gearbox and a selectable transfercase. For the off-road types, this rig has a few upgrades. Manual front hub lockers and a rear e-locker are a big deal, as are the low 4WD settings, which work to multiply torque and keep momentum surging forward. It gets up to highway speeds with ease, and the long wheelbase distributes bumps impressively well. We installed new rear trailing arm bushings for state inspection, and we didn’t stop there. A power steering flush was performed, and the system is light and easy to articulate. The brakes feel confident, and grip is handled by four new 31″ Falken tires. Mounted and balanced here in the shop, they reduce road noise, look mean, and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. Lastly, we aligned the Cruiser to prolong tire life, and it drives like a dream. Turn key and ready to rock, this awesome off-roader can be yours today!
