LJ78 Toyota's look as if they were lifted right off the Serengeti and make for one of the most unique JDM SUV options out there. The name Land Cruiser is synonymous with reliability, capability, and simplicity and this 1994 is no exception. Finished in a Green over Gray Two-tone, and accessorized by a polished brush guard, the body is in good shape aside from some minor dings and scuffs associated with normal use. Powered by a torquey turbodiesel, this trusty steed is offered with a mere 134k documented and verified miles. Freshly serviced, and legally imported this spacious off-roader would make for an eye-catching year-round hauler or a sweet adventure vehicle. No matter how you intend to use it, this lovable and collectible truck is a Japanese Classic. 

The cabin is surprisingly well equipped and offers plenty of room and seating for seven. The dash is in good shape and lacks any cracking or discoloration which does plague this model. Toyota actually added air conditioning after the model's initial introduction and this one blows cold. The driver also benefits from power windows and locks to make daily use much more enjoyable. Believe it or not even the retractable power sunroof works and it lets in some natural light to brighten the cabin. The view of the road ahead is commanding and clear and a Volanti wood grain steering wheel has been installed to add some flair to the cockpit. The headliner is in good shape and lacks any large blemishes. The seats are trimmed in a soft gray cloth and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. This Prado includes the prized third row which can be folded away and stored up against the D-pillar. Privacy tint is there for those in the back to stay cool and they also protect the interior plastics from the harsh rays of the sun. The carpets and door cards have faired well over the years, and the cargo area hasn't suffered from any major abuse. For wide loading, the rear doors are side hinged like a barn and can accommodate some tall items as well. Even the rear side glass can be pushed out for additional ventilation for those in the third row.

The body on frame layout is known to last much longer than unibody designs due to their construction. The engine is also the gold standard for Toyotas of this era, and this EX is propelled by the 1KZ-TE. Fresh off an oil and filter service and equipped with two new 12v batteries so it starts up promptly when the key is turned. The massive four-bangers idles confidently and is mated to a selective transfer case. The driver can choose 2WD or 4wd when necessary and low gearing is available for those who drive in inclement weather. For those who are off-road enthusiasts, this one is also equipped with the rare rear locking differential option. The automatic gearbox shifts as it should and sustained highway cruising is not an issue at all. The suspension can handle the rigors of daily use and this long-wheelbase example feels stable at higher speeds. The ground clearance is impressive and the truck sits above traffic which is great for down-road visibility. The brakes are confident and our shop has replaced the front brake pads to ensure that the next owner can stop this heavy rig without stressing out. The five-spoke alloys are all wrapped in new all-terrain tires at all four corners. They will last for tens of thousands of miles to come and deliver premium year-round grip and add to the overall aestetic. We also have replaced the spare tire to boot, just in case.
