The 70 series Land Cruisers are tough and stylish rigs. This 1994 is a special truck, with a classy cabin, turbodiesel, and rugged 4x4 underpinnings. Finished in one-off Midnight Black, this truck is set off by some stylish alloy wheels with new rubber, OEM rainguards, privacy tint and a polished Sorex rear receiver. The body and paint are in fine shape aside from some light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Offered with a mere 139k verified miles, this recently serviced Prado is barely broken in. As a unique daily driver, kid hauler, or weekend trail rig this KZJ78 would be ideal for any application. For those who want a practical and collectible Toyota, this Prado SX is it!

The cabin is spacious and laid out in a simple manner. The fitted leather seat covers steal the show and make the cabin feel much more upscale. The view of the road is clear and commanding and the dash is in good shape aside from a few minor splits about an inch long each on the passenger side. It's hard to notice but we wanted to disclose them prior to the sale. Directly below is a manual climate control system that features working air conditioning. All the switchgear is at hand and the driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column along with electric windows, door locks, and mirrors. These all work as advertised and make daily use enjoyable. The door cards and carpet have resisted major abuse over the years and the headliner is taut and lacks any sagging. A Pioneer head unit replaced the stock one at some point and sounds decent plus modernizes the cabin even more so. Privacy tint keeps the harmful rays of the sun off the soft plastics and keeps temperatures down under the summer sun.

Under the skin, the J78 is a simple but sturdy product. Powered by the 1KZ-TE, this truck is fresh off an oil and filter service. Its starts up promptly thanks to a new 12v battery and breaths freely thanks to a new engine air filter. The 1KZ is mated to a slick-shifting automatic transmission. The Prado moves impressively for a 5000-pound truck and sustained highway driving is stress-free. If you encounter some snow the hubs can be locked electronically from inside the cabin and 4WD low can be selected as well. The suspension can handle the rigors of daily use and abuse and new panhard bar bushings were installed by one of our trained techs while it was up on the lift. The brakes are confident and the freshly powder coated alloys are wrapped in new all-terrain Falkens on each corner. The ride nicely and should last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
