Our tough little 1994 Hilux Surf is determined to take you anywhere. Powered by a nearly indestructible 3.0L turbodiesel and beefy 4WD system, this rig is an off-road monster that can handle the rigors over daily use and Overlanding! Offered with a mere 120K verified miles, the body is finished in a one-off Raven Black and is in good shape other than some minor clearcoat fading, dings, and chips associated with normal use. The all-business aesthetic is only matched by Toyota's reputation for durability and low cost of ownership. Freshly serviced and legally imported, this ute is a true Japanese Classic!

The cabin is in good shape and includes a fair amount of convenience items. A tilting wheel is helpful to get comfy in the cabin and the driver controls include power windows, locks, and mirrors. All these items work and additionally, the OEM audio has been replaced by a touchscreen Eclipse head unit. The automatic climate is standard and above it is two pop-out cupholders! The dash is in good shape lacking any cracks, and the view of the road ahead is commanding and clear. The seats are trimmed in a durable gray textured cloth. They are still soft to the touch and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The matching material is found in the door cards which are also in good nick. The carpets and headliner look good still, and the rear privacy tint keeps the harmful rays of the sun off the interior plastics.

The underpinnings of this body on frame example harken back to a forgotten era. In the mid-nineties, Toyota was building perhaps their most reliable vehicles, a claim that many believe extends to this day. The simplicity of this truck is actually a benefit to the owner whereas new cars are a rolling computer with a million sensors and electronic gizmos. This truck by contrast is analog, and that's likely why it lasted nearly three decades. Powering this Surf is the 1KZ-TE. She turns over promptly thanks to two new 12V batteries that have been installed by our trained technicians. These units should last for another four years and keep the next owner from getting stranded in the dead of winter. A fresh oil and filter service has been taken care of as well, and this Hilux needn't be serviced for another three thousand miles. The four-banger is mated to an automatic transmission. The gearbox shifts properly and is geared for city and highway use. Toyota made standard a selective transfer case, and the low gearing is available when encountering rough terrain. The driver can toggle between 2WD and 4WD as needed, and this ute is powerful and efficient. The suspension can handle daily driving and the power steering is light and easy to manipulate. The brakes feel confident and the whole thing rides on a set of blacked-out 80 series wheels. The tires have plenty of tread and can handle year-round use if necessary.
