Subaru has become synonymous with AWD adventure. Whether you're heading out camping for the weekend or plowing down snowy back roads the Impreza can tackle whatever you can throw at it. While the sedans are the trademark look, some of us really want the practicality of a wagon without sacrificing performance. Our '94 is fitted with the same trademark turbocharged 4 cylinder that made these cars the legend that they are today. The Light Silver Metallic (406) is always a great color as it shows less dirt but still has that metallic sheen when you get it out in the sunlight that really pops. The paint shows particularly well for its age with only minimal blemishes from its past 84K verified miles. The body shows just as well as the paint does with only a few routine door dings. Even more impressive is the fact this one has been kept unmodified during its time in Japan. It does sport the factory trademark bits like the hood scoops and vents, the rear mid wing, and those iconic 7" fogs.

While the body has been well maintained, the interior was held to even higher standards. The very supportive, blue cloth seats show only minor signs of wear. Typically the driver's side bolster will have some wear from getting in and out but this one has been spared. Both front and rear are free of any notable stains or tears. The only blemish of note is a small cut in the headliner above the passenger seat that's about 1". Overall though the headliner is still nice and taught which can't be said about half of the cars this age running around stateside. The only modification that's been made comes by way of the Kenwood deck and GPS. While they are functional it is a bit limited here in the US due to the frequency differences. The dash hasn't fallen victim to any sun damage or cracks, and the GPS screen was mounted via an adhesive so there wouldn't be any holes if you choose to remove it. Behind the tasteful, stock, Nardi wheel is an easy to read gauge cluster with all of your necessary accessories right within arms reach. With automatic climate control, tinted rear windows, and cold A/C you'll have no problem finding the right cruising temperature. Of course for these approaching fall days, you have 4 powered windows, along with power-folding mirrors and door locks. Unlike its sedan counterpart, the rear seats fold down giving you a cavernous amount of useable space. These make fantastic adventure mobiles, family haulers, or even mail carriers!

The heart of the GC8 is the two-liter, turbocharged, flat-four EJ20G. The potent little boxer starts right up and has a nice, smooth idle. The power delivery is very linear with a quiet growl out of the factory exhaust. Of course, those looking for a little more rumble from the signature boxer could easily fix that. Pairing this with the automatic makes it an ideal daily driver. When you add in the fact that the GF8 was sold here stateside it makes the parts availability much easier than on some of our more obscure imports. This one does appear to have been very well maintained over the years. The automatic engages with ease and runs through all of the gears with little hesitation. The timing belt was replaced a little before 100K kilometers indicating that they were very proactive with upkeep. Our trained techs have gone over it to make sure of that, the only things that we needed to address were new tires all around and a fresh battery for the colder months ahead. The OEM suspension and brakes handle bumps well and corners flatly. Just because it's practical doesn't mean this little wagon can't rip. Once the boost comes in this thing hauls (literally and figuratively.) Whether you're looking for a practical new daily or just a fun weekend toy, this Subaru has you covered.
