Honda is known for its reliable and practical people movers. If you had to critique the brand, you could say that too many vehicles were geared towards the mainstream market, but alas, this 1994 Honda Rafaga is a bit more distinctive and unique than your run-of-the-mill sedan. Powered by a longitudinally-mounted five-cylinder, this recently serviced Sebring Silver (NH553-M) five-seater is offered with only 108k verified and documented miles. Set off by a Mugen front lip, OEM rainguards, 16" Devize alloys, and a stylish OEM rear spoiler the body and paint are in good shape overall aside from some light scuffs, dings, and chips associated with normal wear and tear. For the Honda enthusiast who wants to march to the beat of his or her own drum, this nicely equipped and lightly modified Rafaga is a great choice. Quirky, efficient, and built to last this JDM-only offering won't last long, and is a certified Japanese Classic!

The interior condition is above average and this saloon was obviously cared for in a prior life. Even the OEM carpet mats and owners manuals come with the purchase of the vehicle. The view of the road ahead is unobstructed and the dashboard lack any cracking or distortion. A Pioneer radio upgrade with a 3.5mm auxiliary input supplies all the tunes needed and boasts some decent sound quality. There is plenty of power equipment surrounding the driver including electric windows, locks, and power-folding mirrors. These all work as advertised and complement the optional electric sunroof, which retracts with the press of a button. The gray cloth upholstery is in an above-average shape. It lacks any major rips stains or tears and is soft to the touch. For longer trips, the driver can set the adjustable column to their preferred setting and can engage the cruise control and relax, which is part of the appeal of this vehicle. The matching cloth can be found in the door cards which are in great shape and the headliner and carpets have withstood major abuse over the years. That is not to say everything is perfect as we did want to note light wear on the armrest, but that is a bit of nitpicking.

The Rafaga is slotted in between the Accord and Civic model and shares many of the mechanical bits with other Hondas sold stateside. This one is powered by the G20A, which was also featured in our US Acura Vigor. The 2.0L is designed to run off basic unleaded fuel, and is fresh off an oil and filter service. The five-cylinder starts up promptly with the twist of the key thanks to a new 12v battery we installed while it was up on the lift. While conducting maintenance our techs installed a new valve cover gasket keeping in all the fresh oil. Mated to a slick-shifting automatic, the engine powers the front wheels. The weight of the engine rests directly above the driveline making this Honda ideal for winter use if you get the occasional dusting of snow. It accelerates just fine if you plan to daily drive and sustained highway cruising doesn't tax the Rafaga one bit. Lowered on RSR Ti2000 springs and stiffened with a Pro Spats front strut tower brace, this Honda corners flatly and looks sporty with its reduced fend gap. One of our trained techs replaced the right inner tie rod and left front inner axle boot. After new rubber was mounted at all four corners, the Honda rolled down to the dealership for a fresh state inspection to complete the reconditioning. As a daily driver, highway commuter, or rad weekend cruiser this Honda would be perfect, and it's turn key and ready to rock.
