Toyota crammed a lot of decent equipment into the HiAce model. Four Wheel Drive, a hearty turbodiesel engine, and loads of electric amenities can be found in this 1994 Super Custom Limited. It also features unique styling, which turns heads from the campground to Cars and Coffee. Finished in on-off Alphard White (042) over Black, this seven-seater is set off by refinished black OEM alloys, a stylish rear spoiler, a rare one-piece OEM mud flap, factory rainguards, and some classy rear privacy tint. Apart from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs the paint is in good nick and this lovable hauler is fresh off a recent service. Boasting a mere 129k verified and documented miles on the clock, this van is barely broken in. Refined and reliable, this KZH106 would make for an ideal year-round daily driver, cool campsite companion, or useful grocery getter. Japanese Classics like this one are affordable, collectible, and capable! What's not to like?
The cabin includes several rare options and upgrades. It is also in good nick and was clearly cared for in a prior life overseas. A number of wood grain accents were added to the center stack and a matching Razo shift knob adds to the aesthetic. A touchscreen Alpine head unit supplements the turbodiesel soundtrack as well. The view of the road ahead is commanding thanks to the cabover design and outward visibility is top-tier. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and the driver receives an SRS airbag for some added peace of mind. The optional digital cluster is equipped in this van, is easy to read, and looks downright cool as you pilot this one down stateside highways! A simple-to-use automatic climate control happily cycles cold A/C and heat within the cabin. The rear occupants have their own dedicated heating and cooling controls so family arguments can be kept to a minimum. If you prefer more natural ventilation a suite of three moonroofs can be cracked and the large side windows pop out, too. The seats are upholstered in a soft cognac-colored cloth. They lack any major rips, stains, or tears and are soft to the touch. The middle row swivels 180 degrees to face rearward and can also be folded flat to create a sleeping surface. Imagine sleeping under the heavens with the massive panoramic middle roof open and all the stars above! The headliner is in good shape as are the door cards and carpets. That's not to say the cabin is perfect as we wanted to note the power adjustable tilt column is nonfunctional as are the power folding function of the side mirrors, and there are a few scuffs on the interior plastics. On the positive side, it has the owner's manual, maintenance records and Alpine audio pamphlets still in the glovebox for the next owner. Even the OEM carpeted mats are included, to protect your carpets against spills and stains.
The front midship 4WD drivetrain is mounted low in the cabin which allows these vans to handle better than you might expect. The 1KZ-TE is one of Toyota's most legendary engines and this one is fresh off an oil and filter service. It churns to life care of a new 12v battery and idles with confidence. A new fuel filter keeps particulates out of the four-banger and the 3.0L pulls strong to redline. Power is fed through a stout automatic gearbox and fed to all four wheels. The acceleration is impressive for a vehicle of this size and blasting down the highway is stress-free. The suspension is soft and makes quick works of small and large road perfections alike. The power steering is light and on point and the brakes are more than capable of reeling this Super Custom down from higher speeds. The factory wheels are wrapped in new Yokohama rubber at all four corners. The all terrains not only quiet down the road noise but will deliver tens of thousands of miles of year-round grip for a long time to come.
