1993 Toyota VX Limited Land Cruiser
Stock Number: 4567
A diesel-driven Toyota Land Cruiser is the forbidden fruit of 80 series. Here in the US we never got anything but a gasoline powerplant, until now! Legally imported and fully documented, this 1993 VX Limited is finished in a classic Toyota Black (204) and offered with a mere 124K verified miles. Featuring OEM rain guards and a chrome bull bar, the body is in good shape other than a few minor scuffs, dings, and dents. This torquey brute is luxurious, capable, and known for being one of the most reliable designs ever produced by this heralded Japanese manufacturer.
The interior had plenty of options and power accessories back in 1993, and surprisingly, still looks current. The dash is in good shape, lacking any major imperfections except for a nav mount which has been stuck to it. Visibility is good, and the ride height and skinny A-pillars promote visibility. Power windows, mirrors, and locks work and the driver also can adjust the steering column if needed. The A/C blows cold, and the automatic climate system features large, easy to read controls. Cruise control works and is standard, and an automatic climate system blows cold air through the cabin. Heated seats are there for the winter, and the gray upholstered cloth is soft to the touch. The driver's side bolster does have some minor rips, but the remaining seating surfaces look fine. The door cards and headliner are in good nick, and the cargo area behind the rear seats is in nice shape as well. The sunroof no longer works, nor does the audio, but then again these Cruisers are almost three decades old so they aren't perfect by any stretch.
The 1HD-T engine fitted underneath the long, flat hood is as refined as it is reliable. Displacing 4133cc, and benefiting from a fresh oil and filter service, the straight-six clamors to life with very little vibration. Mated to an automatic transmission, the lumbering truck gets up to highway speeds without an issue and has enough passing power for our faster-paced roadways. A full-time 4WD system underpins this truck, and a low gear setting can be accessed through a cabin mounted lever. The center locking differential (K295) and front and rear LSDs are there if the going gets tough. The brakes are capable and the suspension sorts out road imperfections well. The alloy wheels are all wrapped in oversize Falken Rubitreks and are determined to deliver plenty of grip regardless of the road conditions.
