The Toyota Land Cruiser's rugged yet reliable persona made it legendary. The iconic 80 series is loved here stateside and sought out by off-road enthusiasts all around the world. We were a little cheated here in the states since the world was able to enjoy the powerful turbo diesel models while we only had access to the gassers. This 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser VXL is the perfect combination of efficiency, size, and practicality and perhaps the best full-size SUV export at the moment. Offered with a mere 134k verified and documented miles, the body is in good shape aside from some minor dings and scuffs. Finished in Predawn Gray Mica, which is a current color on Toyota models, this 1993 comes highly accessorized! This lifted Cruiser boasts steel bumpers, roof ladder, OEM rain guards, a set of 16" Epsilon Elite MAX Type 4 wheels, and a big roof rack to complete the tough-guy aesthetic. Recently serviced and legally imported this upgraded Toyota would make for a rugged trail rig, family overlander, or even a daily driver! No matter how you put it to use, this HDJ81 is certainly a real-deal Japanese Classic.

The 80's interior design was top notch as it related to comfort and luxury. The cabin is massive and includes plenty of electric amenities. For starters, a power sunroof that tilts and retracts is optioned as well as a field monitor, OEM coolbox, cruise control, and automatic climate control to ensure you and your passengers are comfortable while seated inside. The seats are upholstered in a gray two-tone color scheme and are still soft to the touch. They lack any major rips, stains, or tears to note. The view ahead is clear and the upright seating allows for premium visibility all around you. The switchgear is all at hand and the driver benefits from a tilt steering column, MoMo wood grain wheel, and power-adjustable lumbar support. For nighttime driving LED headlamps make for better illumination on the road, the door cards with power window controls and locks are intact with no signs of rips or unraveling. Above, the headliner is in great shape with no sagging in the material or stains to note. The carpet has been well maintained over the years and resisted major abuse in Japan. The OEM radio was swapped out for a Carrozzeria audio, and all your automatic climate controls are located adjacent. Whether you want the heat or cold A/C, the automatic climate has you covered and is simple to use. We wanted to note the power folding mirror function isn't working, too. Aside from some light plastic wear and a set of missing speaker grills and some dash cracks, this one has been obviously cared for in a prior life.

Underneath the bonnet, the 1HD-T 4.2L sits comfortably with plenty of space to get your hands around it! A simple turn of the key and this 80 comes to life, thanks to a set of 2 new 12V batteries. The 4.2L idles nearly vibration-free and fresh off an oil and filter service. A K&N intake adds some power and sounds insanely good under load. The turbo noises make us feel like we are in diesel heaven! There is a blitz boost controller inside the cabin that is operable and can be shut off away from the drag strip, kidding aside. The suspension on this body-on-frame LC is made up of lift springs and Ohlins Dakar shocks at all four corners. Despite being jacked up taller than a semi the ride is predictable enough for daily use and the approach angles are crazy! The steering is aided by a steering damper and the brakes are confident thanks to a set of new pads. The 4-speed automatic transmission is smooth and geared properly to achieve highway speeds, with no hard shifts to note. A low speed transfer case and center locker are along for the ride in case you hit some loose surfaces. The wheels are wrapped in new all-terrain tires at all four corners. They look imposing and will add tens of thousands of miles of year-round grip to this wonderful platform. The ideal off-road or Overlanding option, with enough to load the family in along with all the camping or beach gear for the weekend!
