One of the best sleeper cars to come out of Japan in the 90's were the JZX90's. We just got in this awesome Dark Green Mica 1993 with only 86K miles. Everybody seems to have a different take on the looks of the Mark II which is exactly what makes these so cool. It reminds you of several different cars but ties it all together in it's own one of a kind package. The Dark Green Mica is a very subtle color that looks almost like black in low light, and then when it hits the sun pops a deep forest green. The paint and body on this one are in good shape but does show some wear. There are stone chips on the front bumper/hood from normal highway driving. There are also a few spots around the vehicle that have been touched up from the previous owner. There are also a couple of door dings that can be seen, but nothing that chipped the paint or a little PDR couldn't correct. The body lines and gaps all line up as they should, just some light cosmetic issues. Since the factory Toyota wheels are a bit boring a timeless set of 17" BBS RSII's have been fitted. This particular JZX still has the OEM rain guards as well which are becoming increasingly hard to find in one piece.

Much like the exterior, the cabin has been kept all original and in great shape. The driver side bolster show a slight bit of wear from getting in and out but is free of any stains or tears. The passenger and rear seats look as if they have hardly been used. The carpets and headliner are in the same shape with no notable stains or tears. All of the power accessories work as they should with power windows, mirrors, and door locks, even the OEM radio is still present. The A/C blows nice and cold making it a great place to spend your morning commute.

The heart of everything is a twin turbo 1JZ-GTE, powering the rear wheels with a near 50/50 weight distribution. This alone makes it one of the most popular drift cars in Japan. For those looking to take an approach like that the R154 is a direct bolt in. The straight six easily fires up with a nice smooth idle. The transmission shifts in and out of gear quietly and without hesitation. When you're on throttle the gear changes are surprisingly quick and seamless. The 1JZ will happily lope along at low speeds, but when you need a little extra boost there is no hesitation. The turbo's spool up quickly and pull like a freight train to redline. The gearing on the automatic makes it excellent on the highway when you need to get around slower traffic. While stock, the suspension is very well sorted and makes for a very comfortable ride. These cars are perfect for those looking for an unusual daily driver that doesn't want to sacrifice performance in the name of practicality.
