Toyota's craftsmanship is known worldwide for its durability and the Celsior is perhaps the premier example of this. Finished in a snazzy Midnight Indigo (8J5), this 1993 UCF11 is offered with only 22K verified miles. While the clear coat is on its last legs, the sedan cleans up nicely and the body is in good shape another than the normal small scuffs, dings, and dents associated with normal use. Brought up to date on maintenance and legally imported, this Toyota is equipped with a hearty and refined V8, adjustable air ride suspension, and plenty of power options. It drives like the luxury flagship it is and is the definition of a Japanese Classic.

The quiet and spacious cabin has aged well and was obviously well cared for in Japan. Power options are aplenty as the electronic tilt/telescoping column and SRS airbag greet the driver upon entry. The driver seat is powered as well, and they have access to the one-touch windows, power locks, and functional power-folding mirrors. Even the seat belts can be power adjusted on the B-pillars, which is admittedly a bit over the top. Visibility is decent and the black floating gauges are great for nighttime driving. They all work as they should, however, the airbag light is illuminated. The dash is in good shape and doesn't have any cracks or distortion to note. It features a large glovebox for storage with additional capacity in the large center console. Two cupholders pop out from behind the shifter if you would like to enjoy a beverage as your motor. Many of the vehicle controls are accented by real wood veneers, and the center stack doesn't look too busy like-new vehicles with thousands of buttons and touch screens. The climate control is digital and works as it should, although the audio no longer does. The seats are upholstered in a soft gray executive cloth and are nearly perfect. Devoid of any major rips, stains or tears they are perfectly supportive on long cruises. The rear seats are in equally good condition, and privacy tint keeps prying eyes away from those in the back of the car. The headliner is trimmed in a matching material and is near mint, and the carpets have been well protected by a set of OEM plush carpet mats. They are included in the sale and located in the sizable rear boot.

The driveline Toyota used in this platform is nothing short of legendary. Fitting it's 3968cc 1UZ-FE below the massive bonnet, the Celsior has plenty of power to get out of its own way. It benefits from a fresh semi-synthetic oil and filter service and runs like a champ. Mated to a silky smooth auto transmission, shes easily coast up to and above highway speeds. Underpinned by a height-adjustable air ride system, the saloon insulates the occupants from the road almost altogether. It corners closer to a DeVille than a Boxster no doubt, but the rear-drive layout lends itself to a more balanced platform than one might expect. The brakes are confident and the steering is on the lighter side. The silver alloys are all wrapped in new all-season rubber that has been mounted and balanced by one of our trained technicians. Many of our client's service at Lexus dealers, as the cars we sold here stateside in nearly identical form. Parts are inexpensive and readily available, which makes ownership far less stressful. Its the type of car you just hop in a drive, and all your troubles melt away.
