Exterior Overview

Here at the dealership, there’s a lot of ways to have fun on four wheels. We have zippy sport sedans and coupes, rugged and durable trucks and vans, but nothing sparks sheer glee quite like this ’94 Suzuki Jimny. This tiny terror boasts a 1.3l engine, superb drivability, and unmatched performance on backroad excursions. It also looks the part, finished in Deep Blue Pearl (1FG) and set off by a shaved front bumper, integrated yellow fog lamps, aftermarket rain visors and 15″ 5 Datum alloys. Save for some small nicks in the paintwork, the strictly business aesthetic turns heads nearly everywhere it goes and the 65k miles on the clock are verified to boot. Interior Overview

For a rugged little crawler, the interior feels surprisingly classy, with fitted leather seat covers and a matching Nardi steering wheel stealing the show. Uncharacteristic of most 30 year old economy cars, the hard plastics and upholstery show no discernible defects, cracks, or UV fading or lifting. To make daily use a bit easier, the cockpit boasts upgraded Bluetooth Pioneer audio, and an adjacent climate control system that pumps out cold A/C and hot heat with haste. Mounted centrally, a duo of voltage gauges are also present to monitor engine vitals. This JB31 utilizes the keep it simple, stupid mantra, and the locks, mirrors, and windows are all manually adjustable. This does little to hamper daily use, as access to the amenities is easy thanks to the compact interior dimensions. That’s not to say it’s not accommodating to our larger frames, as the rear seats can fit a couple extra passengers, and there’s ample head and legroom up front. The rear seats also fold fully forward, if you prefer the extra cargo space. The vinyl headliner is affixed snugly to the roof, and the carpets are in good nick too. As a bonus, we’ve also included the original owner’s manual, further evidence this one was cared for in a prior life.

Mechanical Overview

The G13B under the bonnet is anything but drab, and this pint sized four banger is more capable on stateside streets than one might think, as this Jimny will turn highway speeds with ease. Better yet, we’ve bolstered this one with a new timing belt and water pump, and installed new serpentine belts to reliably drive your accessories. A new thermostat was tossed in to assist thermal management, and a valve cover gasket was replaced alongside a standard oil and filter service. This 1.3 has plenty of pep, and shifts through the 5 speed gearbox are composed and easy to command. Renowned for its off-road prowess, the Jimny features an easy to use 4WD system, with manual locking front hubs for when the going gets tough. The suspension is responsive, albeit a bit harsh on larger imperfections but it gets the job done well and is comfortable overall. The steering is also direct, and the brakes grab with authority if you need to reach an abrupt stop. The alloys are wrapped in brand new rubber that does quite a bit to quiet down unwanted road noise and increase traction. Perfect for this compact 4×4, they’ll keep you covered for tens of thousands of miles to come!
