1993 Subaru WRX Wagon
The WRX wagon is the ultimate automotive multi-tool. Can you imagine canyon carving, grocery getting, soccer practice all in the same car? This 1993 Subaru Impreza WRX GF8 is the first in a long line of Subaru's powerful performance AWD models. The EVO and WRX are legendary in their own rights, but the fact that Subaru sought fit to pack a turbocharged motor and all wheel drive into a station wagon is uniquely special. The engine, EJ20G, in the early models is essentially the same engine found in the first generation STi's making this early WRX one exciting car to drive! With only 99K verified miles it's in the prime of it life. The exterior is finished in Light Silver Metallic (406) and is in good condition. The paint shines nicely in all lighting and has no major defects, sans some light imperfections in the clearcoat. The body is also very straight with no major damage, dings or dents. The exterior is no regular Impreza, as this vehicle includes all the racier bits such as deeper side skirts, hood scoops, bonnet vents, rear valence, and mud flaps. The interior on this WRX has stood the test of time, and is as comfortable as it is beautiful. The durable blue and gray textured cloth interior has been well cared for. The condition of the dash, seats, and door cards exceeds expectations, and is in wonderful shape for a 25 year old vehicle. The optional Nardi steering wheel and well bolstered seats hint that this is no standard naturally aspirated Impeza, but otherwise occupants will find the interior spacious and livable. The five seat capacity, and large hatchback storage options, make this car great for an active lifestyle. The air conditioning is working properly, and as is customary with Subaru's, the heater will about singe your eyebrows off. The best interior update comes from a newer Kenwood head unit, which improves audio quality and integrates USB and auxiliary functions to the radio system. The cargo area comes fitted with the accessory tie down net and extra storage panels for convenience. Finally, all the power windows and locks have been tested and work properly.
The EJ20G 4 cylinder turbocharged engine starts with the unmistakable Subaru boxer rumble. A new battery has been installed by one of our trained technicians, and can withstand the next few cold winters without an issue. The closed deck engine idles well, and is an absolute blast to drive even with the stock boost levels. A fresh oil service brings allows for a turn key, maintenance start to ones ownership experience on the right foot. The suspension and brakes, although they are OEM, handle bumps well, corners flatly, and stops happily once the brake pedal is depressed. The AWD drivetrain, coupled with a stout, automatic transmission sends the power to the ground smoothly and shifts are pleasant with clunks or slips. The all season tires are capable, and can withstand this winters inclement weather, as we all know this car is great in the snow.
