The 300ZX was an immediate legend from when it first debuted in 1989 until finally ending production in 2000. Yet here we are 30 years after production started and it still just as relevant and desirable of a car now as it was when it was new. It's long flowing lines simply never went out of style. Our Midnight Black (GL1) 1993 is a great example of what we missed out on over here aporting all of the 99+ aero. The front bumper, side skirts, rear spats, and rear wing are all factory OEM from the true last generation of the Fairlady. The more aggressive-looking aero really set the car off, yet doesn't look like a cheap body kit someone bolted on. The paint matches us well with all of the additional pieces and has held up over the years. There are some scratches in the clear coat and some spots of touch up paint to be found, but it's free of any clearcoat peeling or big chips. The body has been maintained to a similar condition. With its long doors and body pannels it's expected to have some door dings from the last 110K verified miles of driving. With a big body tourer, you need wheels to match. The 16" factory wheels look anemic, so a set of 19" Ray's Arthur Exchange LK's fill the wheel wells now. To dial in the fitment even further Cusco coilovers have the car settled down to a more fitting ride height.

The interior has been kept pretty much all original and in surprisingly good shape. The 2+2 came very well appointed, even by today's standards. The heavily bolstered, powered seats, are in above average condition. All four seats are free of any major staining, tears, or the common bolster wear. Another key problem spot is the dash along the defrost vent; this one does not have any sun damage or curling. Aside from the aftermarket head unit (which can easily be swapped out for something more US-friendly) the center armrest has been wrapped in Gucci fabric. Otherwise, all of the stock accessories are present and functioning correctly. These were state of the art for their time have power mirrors, windows, door locks, a clever automatic climate control, as well as cruise control with steering wheel-mounted controls. This car was clearly well cared for back in Japan, even the sunshades for the T-tops are in good condition for those times you don't want to deal with the sun beating down on you.

Likely one of the most underrated engines Nissan has ever built, the VG30DETT was the reason these cars were atop Car and Driver's 10 best lists every year it was in production. While these are capable of making some serious power, most of us want a well-maintained one that you can simply hop in and enjoy. Stripped out race cars have their place, this, however, is a proper grand tourer. The twin-turbo 3.0 has more than enough power to get you into trouble and the automatic trans makes it ideal for day to day life. The V6 quickly comes to life with a twist of the key, thanks to a new battery and alternator, and settles into a nice low rumble from its catback Fujitsubo exhaust. The trans engages with ease and has no problem running through the gears. With two new tires upfront and replacement HICAS arms in the back, this Z32 drive fantastic. The previous owner was up to date with regular servicing as the all-important timing belt job was done about 10K miles ago. These days it's hard-pressed to find any vehicle this age in such good condition, let along such a popular sport-tourer. Don't miss your chance at this true automotive icon.
