The Nissan Silvia is as fun to drive as it is iconic. Part of what makes the chassis so popular is the wide array of aftermarket parts, and the ability to personalize it to your tastes. Aftermarket aero is plentiful, and with a wide selection of wheels and performance modifications on hand, the possibilities are endless! Offered with only 93k verified and documented miles, this 1993 Silvia K's example looks killer with the updated kouki front end, aftermarket FRP aero, and midnight purple paint. Originally this Silvia left the factory in Blueish Green Pearl (FN2) and was refinished in one of Nissan's most desirable colors Midnight Purple. The paint shows well, with only minor imperfections associated with normal use throughout. There is some trim wear which you'd expect on a vehicle this age and of course, the front fenders, hood, headlights, grille, and bumper have been replaced with updated late model units, and the front left fender has been repaired. The aftermarket FRP aero is in good condition as well, but it does have some waves in the panels which are common for FRP panels, along with not fitting quite as good as OEM. A late-model rear wing has also been fitted in Japan, which completes the kouki look, and an aggressive set of aftermarket 18" wheels fill out the wheel arches properly. This eye-catching Silvia is a blast to drive, is collectible, and fun. And that's why it's a Japanese classic!
The cockpit features a few performance-oriented upgrades, and while it's not perfect, it gets the job done. A Bride Brix driver's seat was added at some point and keeps the driver firmly planted during spirited driving. It has some wear to the outer bolster and some light staining from regular use. The passenger seat is OEM, and in great shape, as are the rear seats. The dash has a crack in it due to UV exposure which is a common issue on the S14 Silvia's. The digital automatic climate control is intuitive to use, and works great, with cold A/C and hot heat to suit any environment outside. An Alpine double din head unit was added and functions properly, however, it will not pick up US radio stations. The power windows function however but we did want to note the button on the driver window is sticky. The power sunroof pops up properly and allows for some fresh air into the cabin, however the retract function is slow to operate and stops about halfway open. An upgraded Tomei shift knob feels great and the steering wheel was updated to a sporty MoMo unit, which shows some wear on the leather. The door panels are in decent shape but there is some wear on the driver side armrest and a small nick in the vinyl on the same side. The power mirrors work as advertised including the power-folding feature. Rarely found in a Silvia, a functional OEM keyless entry key fob works like a charm and makes daily use much more manageable!
The heart of the Silvia is Nissan's SR20DET engine. This 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder is as iconic as the chassis, and responds well to modifications. This one has been lightly modified including a Greddy front mount intercooler, Greddy oil cooler, aluminum radiator, stainless exhaust manifold, Apexi intake, and a Kaikimoto catback exhaust with a free-flowing 3" downpipe. These pricey upgrades make great power and sound amazing at full throttle. Our technicians installed a new fuel pump along with new rubber fuel lines and performed a fresh oil and filter change while in the shop. A new battery was also installed making quick work of even the coldest weather starts. The suspension has also been upgraded with a set of aftermarket coilovers which stiffens up the ride and allows you to set your desired ride height. The engine runs great and power comes on strong all the way to redline. Shifts are performed through the 5-speed transmission and we wanted to note a slight grind going into 3rd gear. Otherwise, the clutch shows no signs of slipping, and rowing through the gears is a blast! Additionally, we installed four brand new tires to keep all of the power on the ground and will last for years to come.
