Tamed down for US consumption, the only 1992 Land Cruisers available to stateside customers were gasoline versions. This example is finished in Dark Green Pearl (6M1) and features the torquey, efficient, and reliable 4.2L 1HD-T diesel. As a VX Limited, it comes incredibly well equipped and is being offered with a mere 118K verified miles. A blacked-out grille, polished roof ladder, and beefy tires complement the curvaceous bodywork which is in great shape other than some minor dings, scuffs, and scratches associated with routine use. Fresh off a recent service, this legally imported RHD rig would be a comfortable daily driver or rugged trail monster. Either way, this impressive truck is a certified Japanese Classic.

The cabin is in good shape overall, especially for a vehicle of this age. That doesn't mean its perfect with small items like a silver dollar-sized dash imperfection by the center stack, but then again, this ride is 28 years old. The cockpit has been updated with a few pricey items including a Momo wood grain steering wheel and Eclipse touch screen head unit. The factory speakers have been upgraded to more current units and the speakers send tunes through the cabin if you'd prefer not to listen to those awesome turbo sounds. Beyond a tilt steering column, the driver also gets power windows, locks, and mirrors as standard equipment. The automatic climate and A/C work as they should, and this 80 series even has a dedicated rear-seat heating system if it gets chilly outback. A power sunroof sits atop the front seats and works as it should. It has the ability to fully retract or tilt based on the needed amount of ventilation. The seats are all trimmed in Alcantara and are soft to the touch and comfortable. No majors rips, stains, or tears are present on the seating surfaces, and the headliner and door cards are in good nick. Faux wood accents break apart the neutral color palette nicely and make the interior feel more upscale.

Mechanically, this truck checks all the right boxes. Its body on frame platform holds up well to abuse and the full-time 4WD system makes this SUV nearly unstoppable. Under the massive hood is a silky smooth inline-six. With the twist of a key, the turbodiesel clatters to life and is nearly vibration-free. Fresh off a diesel specific oil and filter service, she doesn't have any scheduled maintenance due for another 3,000 miles. The power-down low is impressive and the automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels. The gearbox shifts well, lacking any major hesitation or clunking. Front and rear limited-slip differentials (K295) are there for you if the road conditions are less than ideal, and the driver can select low gearing from a selective transfer case if necessary. The power steering is power-assisted and the truck is easy to drive even in the tighter confines of a city. The suspension feels sturdy and handles large and small road imperfections without breaking a sweat. The brakes feel nice and strong thanks to a front brake replacement in our shop. The new pads and rotors are paramount when stopping a vehicle this heavy. The five-spoke alloy wheels are all wrapped in new all-season rubber. They should last for plenty of miles and do great when in the winter months ahead.
