The FD3S RX7 is known for its classic body lines and unique powerplant. The styling still looks quite modern despite it first being introduced 25 years ago. This1992 Mazda RX7 Type-R is a clean and lightly modified example. Modifications include a C-West Type II aero kit and carbon fiber hood which provide a more aggressive look to the vehicle. A set of 17” WedsSport SA70 wheels have also been added and compliment the aero. The body is in excellent condition with no major dents or dings. The paint shines very nicely and has no severe blemishes.

The interior has a few minor flaws but is still in very good condition for the age of the vehicle. The dash is in good shape with no cracks or bubbling. The seats and door panels show only light wear and have no rips or tears. A few small changes have been made inside the cabin such as the Momo “Race” wheel. The odometer readout is currently not functional – so actual mileage cannot be verified. However, records indicate that the vehicle had 79k miles as of 2014.

The twin-turbo 13B-REW engine starts right away and accelerates nicely. A compression test performed indicates healthy compression for both housings. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and the ORC clutch does not slip. A few modifications have been made such as the HKS twin intakes, GReddy front mount intercooler, Koyo aluminum radiator, and an aftermarket 3” cat-back exhaust. Handling has also been improved with the addition of Tein coilovers and aftermarket strut bars. Overall this FD3S RX7 is beautiful from all angles and has a number of tasteful modifications.
