Diesel Land Cruisers have a legendary reputation across the globe and for good reason. They're designed to take a lickin' and keep on tickin', and the styling and interior fit and finish stand up surprisingly well against more modern offerings. Our 1992 is a real looker, with custom Lantern Orange Metallic over Ebony Bronze paintwork, a 3" lift, and a killer set of three piece alloys shod in massive 35" Falkens. With EGR front rainguards, an OEM tire carrier, and a prominent ARB front bumper tying together the aesthetic, this Cruiser is a true showstopper! Boasting a scant 100k verified and documented miles, and rare factory triple-locking differentials, it appeals to enthusiasts and collectors alike. Rugged, stylish, and borderline unstoppable, this 80 series is a Japanese Classic worth its weight in gold!

Simple and spartan in design, the interior is appointed in a durable chocolate and tan suede, and complements the exterior aesthetic nicely. The seats have resisted any serious wear and tear outside of some expected pilling on the driver's seat, and the headliner and carpets beneath are tight and tidy to boot. The dash tucks nicely into the front of the cabin and the center stack features an easy-to-use automatic climate control system with cold A/C and hot heat on tap. The adjacent audio is missing, but most enthusiasts would prefer to add their own US-compatible headunit anyway. The middle bench is versatile and can tumble forward to accommodate larger hauls, and dual-zone climate is at hand if you have some rear passengers in tow. All power windows are operational, although the left rear is a bit slow, the power locks and mirrors work as advertised. Even a huge electric moonroof is available to funnel natural light into the cabin as needed. This 25-year-old cabin does a lot of things well, but that's not to say it's perfect, and we wanted to note some of the typical wear to the touch points and plastics. Other than that, we find it serves as a perfect complement to this rough and rugged rig and we are even including the OEM maintenance booklets and owners manuals!

As fun to drive as it is to own and maintain, the 1HD-T under the hood is a real beast! Ours is fresh off a comprehensive recent service and a thorough road test to really put this body on frame brute through its paces. It starts up swiftly, care of two new 12v batteries, and chugs along at a consistent idle. We replaced the thermostat so that the diesel maintains proper thermal efficiency, and we didn't stop there. A fresh oil and filter service keeps this 4.2L well lubricated and we changed out the diesel fuel filter to keep any unwanted gunk out of your fuel. Worn out serpentine belts were replaced with new ones and we dropped in a new engine air filter for good measure. With the work performed this one is a hoot to putt around town and it's equally as easy to enjoy on the highway as well. OEM triple lockers are on standby if you become entrenched on the beach or in the bog, paying dividends on off-road excursions. Typical of most 30-year-old trucks, the driveline required a bit of rehab to get up to compliance with our US safety standards. We adjusted the front hubs and also took care of some new outer tie rods to shore up the handling and steering. A new steering damper was installed as well. The brakes pads are new at each corner, and can stop this behemoth with ease. Additionally, a fresh alignment makes the most of the brand new rubber we mounted up. The 35" Falken tires look great, drive even better, and should deliver plenty of grip for tens of thousands of miles to come!
