Exterior Overview
It’s hard to imagine the R32 Skyline as a 30+ year old vehicle. Fortunately, examples like this 1992 GTS don’t really show their age, and this Japanese Classic is just as invigorating to own and drive as it was when the first legal examples rolled into our shop close to 12 years ago. This Midnight Blue (TH1) Skyline sedan is a looker too, set off by OEM rainguards, factory fog lights, and a slick stance aided by period-correct 15″ Pozar wheels and brand new ISR coilovers. Fresh off a recent service, this fun and frugal Nissan makes a lot of sense to own, as the 61k verified and documented miles make this R32 highly collectible! At home carving up the twisties, but still flashy enough to show off at the local Cars & Coffee, the Skyline is a textbook Japanese Classic, and a fantastic product that only gets better with age.
Interior Overview
Nissan was at the top of their game in the 90’s, and that absolutely translates into the cockpit styling of this Skyline sedan. The materials are durable, the switchgear is intuitively designed, and a host of power amenities are on hand to make daily driving a breeze. The seats are upholstered in a herringbone cloth, which lacks any major rips, stains, or tears typically found on vehicles of this vintage. Also in above average shape is the dash, which is free of bubbling, cracking, or excessive distortion. The remaining materials are in decent shape, down to the hard plastics surrounding the center stack. Boasting a trick digital automatic climate control display and an OEM optional air purifier, cold A/C and hot heat are easy to cycle into the cabin, and an adjacent Pioneer audio upgrade commands the tunes. If you prefer to go windows-down to hear the RB sing, all four power windows work at the push of a button. Also operable are the power locks, and side mirrors which also fold in electronically. The back seat has enough room for an additional passenger, and the condition of the headliner and carpets is impressive. Despite showing some minor defects from daily use, the factory mats are also in good shape. We can gush about the cabin condition all we want, but it’s still worth noting the drivers door card has some fading and defects typical of normal wear and tear. Still, at over three decades old, we think most discerning Nissan enthusiasts will be pleased overall.
Mechanical Overview
Good things come in small packages, and the fun and frugal RB20DE under the hood proves you don’t need to have a huge roaring turbocharger strapped to this sedan to experience driving euphoria. Best of all, our trained technicians have serviced this Skyline and reconditioned it to Japanese Classics standards. To start, we dropped in a new 12v battery, which was also installed to properly test the alternator. From there, we dropped in a new engine air filter, and performed an oil and filter service on the RB to keep it running tip top. It revs happily through the powerband, and a new clutch sends all that I-6 power straight to the rear wheels. The brand new ISR coilovers are adjustable to your preference, and we also installed new front caster arms to keep the suspension safety compliant. The power steering is direct, and easy to maneuver, and braking performance is impressive for a 34 year old vehicle. Donning fresh rubber on all four corners, the Pozar wheels are a neat look on this 32, and after a fresh alignment, you’ll be tracking dead straight for tens of thousands of miles to come!

CARB certifications will have to be performed within the state. Depending on the vehicle and any existing modifications will affect the pricing. Typically CARB compliance will range between 5-10K.
