Fresh from Japan comes the greatest in vanlife. The 1991 Nissan Homy Royal definitely lives up to the name, chandelier and all. The Green Gray Metallic (5K9) shows well with the two tone silver on the bottom. The paint is in great shape and looks awesome, the color is definitely unique to fir the rest of the van's vibe. The body has been kept in good condition with only a few minor bruises. Considering how long it is someone did a pretty good job of keeping everything clean. There is a scuff on the passenger side mirror and the rear quarter but nothing severe. The factory 15" wheels fill the wheel wells proportionately and the factory mud flaps help it look the part.

Since it is a van, the interior is what the Royal is all about. The tan cloth interior has been well preserved over the years, free of any notable stains or tears. At one point a table was mounted in front of the second row so there an existing outline from that. Up front is very roomy with exceptionally comfortable bucket seats and controls for all of the accessories in the back. All of the creature comforts are powered such as the windows, folding mirrors, cruise control, and driver's seat. All of which function as they should. Automatic climate controls are in the front with a separate switch to control the rear air, which does blow cold. One of the coolest things about the Homy is the versatile seating options. The middle row is made up of two Captain's chairs that are adjustable forward, back, can be laid flat, or swivel 180 degrees. The rear 60/40 split bench seat will also lay flat or can be folded and flipped up behind the middle row. If you're looking for more storage and don't need the 3rd row you could pull the four 14mm bolts and with a little muscle take it out opening up 68" worth of usable space from the rear hatch to the back of the middle row. Unfortunately the rear sunroof is currently inoperable, however it makes a great skylight for road trips or a starry night. Once you set up camp there are full 360 degree wrap around curtains for privacy.

Power comes from the 3 liter V6 (VG30E) which means this van drives more akin to a car than truck. The V6 fires right up and sounds awesome. The Fujitsubo catback exhaust sounds great at idle and is free of any drone at highway speeds. With the long wheelbase of it the suspension does a good job of mitigating body roll. With the simplistic rear suspension design adding some height for ground clearance of lowering it for a more aggressive look would be easy to do. Perfect for larger families or the adventurer on the go, the Homy has space for it all!
