The S13 has been long known as the swiss army knife of coupes. It doesn't matter what you're looking for, this chassis can do it all, and well might we add. Stanced out show car, drift missile, autocross monster, or a simple daily driver, this platform can do it all. This particular 1991 comes to us largely all stock and in great shape. Nissan's Super Black (KH3) is a classic color for this car as it compliments the body lines quite well. Overall the paint shows well for its age and the clear coat has no signs of peeling or fading. However, you can never get away from small imperfections like door dings, stone chips, or clear coat scratches, but nothing out of the ordinary. The body itself is very straight and all OEM, then again there's no real reason to mess with a good thing. There have been a few subtle changes made to the exterior since factory ride heights are always a bit too much. HKS coilovers sit on all four corners and get the car dialed down to a more acceptable height. And since the stock wheels are a bit drab, a set of 16" Super Advan Tri Spoke wheels replace them. These wheels stand out on any vehicle and are an awesome period-correct modification.

Much like the bodywork, the interior has been kept largely all stock. Overall it has been kept up with well, however, there are a few typical flaws that you would expect to find in a 29 year old car. The driver's seat has the typical bolster wear from getting in and out over the years. The passenger seat, on the other hand, is free of any tears and both seats only have minimal discoloration on the seat bottoms. To make the cabin feel a bit more spacious it has the manual sunroof which is surprisingly the better option over the power ones as they're prone to failure over the years. It even still has the original sun shade for those hot summer days. The dash, like all S chassis, does have the typical cracks which is why it has a nice Shevron dash mat to help clean up the interior and cut down on further issues. A really unique Buddy Club P-1 (Position One) steering wheel was fitted which is something you don't see very often. Otherwise the rest of the stock interior has all of the basic amenities of the time. Power windows, power mirrors, automatic climate control, and all present and functioning as you'd expect.

Fitted with the only proper motor for an S chassis, the SR20DET. The aluminum two-liter has been pretty much untouched to make sure reliability isn't an issue. With only 119K verified miles the SR feels strong right off of idle. The power delivery is smooth and the car certainly scoots. There's no wonder why the larger KA is routinely ditched in favor of this lightweight powerhouse. Paired with the factory 5 speed bring the whole package together. The transmission is smooth and more than adequate to handle the power it's making. In order to make itself more pronounced a Fujitsubo catback was fitted which is a nice upgrade. Since it's just a catback there's no highway drone, just enough to turn heads. Naturally, the coilovers are a bit more of a stiff ride than stock, but they're easy enough for street use. All of the routine service work has been performed to make sure the car is running in tip-top shape. Several key items have been replaced like four new tires, a fresh battery, and a routine oil change. As for some of the larger items like the rear main seal and pilot bushing have been addressed as well. Nissan hit a home run with this platform and consequently built it for nearly a decade. With easy to find parts and wide aftermarket support, this Nissan would be an ideal daily driver or a new project to wrench on. Featuring a potent turbo motor, manual trans, and rear-wheel drive, its next chapter in life will surely be enjoyed by a lucky enthusiast.
