1991 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport

Some say the days of the 2 door SUV have gone the way of the dinosaur, and this 1991 Pajero sport is inclined to disagree! Finished in White Pearl/Silver (WFA), and accented by OEM rainguards, a Land Runner brush guard, dual driving lamps, refinished steel rolling stock, and a livery that narrowly escapes a cease-and-desist! And as good as it looks, it drives even better with its manual gearbox, punchy V6, and SuperSelect 4WD. With 44k verified/documented miles on the clock she's barely broken in, and based on the sum of its parts, this stout SUV was clearly cared for by a previous owner as well. The exterior shows a few paint chips, dings, and minor fading from day to day use but that takes little away from this CUV's appeal overall. Whether it's crushing pavement or navigating through wilderness trails, this body on frame Japanese Classic is a real SUV in a segment which is now virtually extinct.
For a rather prehistoric chassis, the interior manages to be modern enough to keep both pilots and passengers comfortable in the 21st century, and is in well above average condition overall. Finished in a durable grey cloth, the seats do a fine job at holding you in place and the upholstery has resisted any serious wear and tear. The dash boasts a simple, utilitarian design and factory digital climate control is easy to operate. For summer treks, A/C is ice cold, and winter warriors can access hot heat at the flip of a switch. Adjacent to the HVAC, OEM audio is present and the sound quality is above average overall. The surrounding dash materials are all in good nick and have also held up to any unwanted UV damage or distortion over the years. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column, additional lumbar support, and the power windows, power mirrors, and locks work like a charm from the cockpit position. Additionally, a manual sunroof can tilt up at the twist of a dial. The rear bench can seat two additional passengers with room to spare, and the rear seating arrangements can fold forward if you need to create some extra cargo space in the back. Overall, it's clear this cabin was well cared for in a prior life. That's not to say the interior is perfect, as the factory compass has given up the ghost as has the OEM CD changer, and the power folding mirror function in inoperable. Otherwise, all accessories are present and functioning, and we've retained the factory flashlight and toolkit are included in the sale!
Perhaps the best part of owning this showstopping SUV is its seamless ownership experience. That's all thanks to the 6G72 under the hood, which was offered domestically for over a decade. Our trained technicians have performed an initial once over and comprehensive service on this ute so you can start killing it at Cars & Coffee from day one! Racking up the majority of the maintenance bill, a new timing belt and water pump were installed, as well as a new A/C belt. We also installed a new 12v battery to aid ignition, and a fresh engine air filter and fuel filter to keep contaminants away from the 3.0. A fresh oil and filter service was also performed and with new valve cover gaskets up top you won't have to worry about sweating away any unwanted lubricant. With the maintenance performed, this V6 shoots right up to highway speeds and shifts are handled through a smooth and direct 5 speed stick. Nicely geared for highway driving, this Pajero is a blast to toot around town as well, and Super Select 4WD is on hand if you need to engage the transfer case at speed. 4WD is easily accessible, and a center locker can also be deployed if you become stranded in the muck trying to escape a T-Rex. We performed a front diff service as well to ensure seamless operation of the 4x4. The factory height adjustable suspension works like a charm, and is surprisingly handy over larger road imperfections. The steering makes this trusty 2 door easy to pilot, and we've wrapped the red steelies in fresh 31" Falken A/T tires so you'll never come up short on grip or comfort. For the movie buff with an affinity for Japanese Classics, this is it! Welcome to Jurassic Pajero.
