The ultimate street van, parts hauler, or weekend camper, this 1990 Hiace Super Custom is the next project you never knew you needed. Backed by a frugal and reliable four cylinder engine this gas sipping Toyota has tons of personality and the 125k miles on the clock are worth bragging about too! Finished in a one-off Brilliant Black and set off by custom FRP aero, a facelift front end conversion, custom graphics, OEM rainguards, and 16" Asco wheels, this is a head turning hauler that shows well outside of some notable damage to the fiberglass and some miscellaneous paint defects throughout. Additionally, we wanted to note a missing turn signal lens. Install the interior for a homie hauler or leave it barren and customize it to your heart's content, we know the next owner will truly appreciate this terrific Japanese Classic!
Boasting a custom vinyl flat loading floor, plenty of power amenities, and upmarket leather seat covers, this interior is built to last and is a key selling point of this lovely HiAce. The driver is pampered too, with a slick aftermarket steering wheel and all controls within arms reach. Even the climate control works, with A/C available for both front and rear zones. For those who prefer natural ventilation, the power windows are functional, and power locks and mirrors operate as advertised. Removed to prioritize cargo space, the swiveling middle row is included and an easy install back into the cabin. The third bench can also be added to maximize capacity inside. A large DVD screen is affixed to the headliner and is not hooked up as the audio and infotainment was removed up front. The dashboard is unobtrusive and lacks any cracking or fading and the remaining interior upholstery shows well aside from some nicks on the door cards. The headliner is tight and tidy, and the factory carpets are on hand and in great shape if you choose to bring the cabin back to OEM spec. Blackout privacy tint adorns the rear and keeps any prying eyes away from your goodies, and overall this versatile cabin should be primed and ready for whatever you decide to put it through!
The 2RZ-E is mounted midship and is a real champ if reliability and ease of service are concerned. This 2.4l is fresh off an oil and filter service and we even dropped in a new 12v battery to aid ignition. As this is a mechanic's special, we did want to note the gas tank has a pinhole leak but it holds fuel should you need to transport it to get repaired. The four banger pulls strong up to highway speeds and the automatic gearbox throws power to the rear axle with haste. There is a bit of wheel vibration at speed, and the van could benefit from new wheel bearings up front. The brakes are also in need of a service as they go straight to the floor. Still, they stop when called upon and the aftermarket alloys are wrapped in General Altimax tires with plenty of tread. Ideal for a weekend off the beaten path or hauling parts and goodies to your local track day, this HiAce serves a purpose no matter how you use it. Fix it up and it'll last a lifetime!
