While some are niche vehicles like the 660cc class of vehicles we sell, others offer a plug-and-play ownership experience. This is the case with this 1995 Toyota Hilux Surf. It shares nearly all the mechanicals with the stateside version, finding parts is easy as pie! Finished in a striking (E83) Aztek Blue Pearl, and adorned by a rare OEM brush guard, the body is in good shape aside from the normal small dings and scratches that are associated with regular use. The cabin is just as good as it is special, stylized by factory Recaro seats! Powered by a gasoline V6 and a rugged 4WD system, this trusty five-seater has been recently serviced and legally imported and boasts an insanely low 38k verified and documented miles. For those who want a reliable, spacious, and capable truck this Hilux Surf surely fits the bill and would be fun and convenient to own as well!
The cabin is roomy and somewhat spartan compared to Toyota's current slate of SUVs. Don't like the look of a flat-screen TV mounted to the dash for infotainment like a new Highlander? Great because this one doesn't have one, nor does it have a million cameras and computers either. For power options, this Surf is equipped with power windows, locks, and mirrors. These all are functional and the driver's window even has a one-touch feature. The A/C blows cold and the automatic climate system is simple to use. If you prefer more natural ventilation, the rear glass powers down so that the breeze can flow through the vehicle from front to back. The factory radio still works and supplies tunes for your commute if you'd like. The focal pointy interior is obviously the Recaro seating and upholstery and you could only get it with the SSR-G trim level. The cloth lacks any major rips stains or tears and the front seats aggressive bolsters keep you from sloshing around when you're attacking the trails. The headliner is in above average shape and the carpets have withstood that last quarter-century without any major blemishes. The door cards, which do match the Recaros are also tightly upholstered and lack any rips or delamination. That's not to say the interior is perfect as there are some dash cracks to note, but that is common on these, unfortunately.
The drivetrain is sturdy, simple, and built to last. Fresh off an oil and filter service, this 3.0L fires up quickly thanks to a new 12v battery. The 3VZ-E is mated to a selective transfer case and the driver can choose between 2WD and 4WD. If the going gets tough a low-speed gear reduction is available, but we realize most clients will likely keep this thing on the pavement. The automatic gearbox shifts as it should and acceleration is enough to get up to highway merging speeds without stressing out. The suspension is compliant for daily use and the TEMS adjustable dampers allow the driver to marginally adjust ride firmness to suit his or her preference. The brake sare confident and the hydraulic steering is light and easy to articulate. The OEM alloys are all wrapped in new all-terrain rubber. We have even replaced the spare! The new rubber will deliver premium year-round grip and last for tens or thousands of miles to come.
