Exterior Overview
Toyota’s 100 series was the blueprint for every modern full-sized SUV on the market. In fact, it still feels plenty advanced, even by today’s standards, and our customers love driving these durable and determined rigs! Our 2000 VX Limited is set off by a few Japan-specific options and upgrades, and touts only 62k verified and documented miles on the clock, which is an extremely impressive figure by today’s standards. Set off by an OEM optional spoiler, OEM rainguards, and multipiece BERG wheels, this White Pearl (057) cruiser is in good cosmetic condition. Save for a few minor paint defects, and a prior replacement of the hood and front left fender, there’s not much to gripe with aesthetically, and privacy tint completes the look. This UZJ100 is civil on pavement, and an absolute animal off the beaten path. For your next favorite daily driver, campsite companion, or overlanding office, look no further than this mean 4×4 Japanese Classic!
Interior Overview
The interior is plush, comfortable, and has everything but the kitchen sink. Premium upholstery, a slew of power options, and most importantly, a stowable third row to keep your kids and companions happy on a long road trip. The tan cloth seats are soft to the touch and show no discernible damage, and both driver and passenger benefit from heated buckets up front. A MOMO woodgrain steering wheel classes up the cabin, and for safety conscious passengers, an SRS airbag is present. The driver can tilt the steering column at will to get comfortable, and a top market Mitsubishi was dropped in to keep the cabin supplied with Bluetooth tunes. There’s even a high-res backup camera that assists with parking this brute in tight spaces. Adjacent to the audio, factory automatic climate control can command temperatures in both front and rear zones, and cold A/C and hot heat are on tap. For a more open-air driving experience, a power moonroof can slide open to let in natural sunlight. The remaining interior materials are in good nick, including the rear bench, which can flip forward to expand the cargo hold. The headliner is tight and tidy, and the door cards sport cloth inserts that match the factory upholstery beneath the covers. Power windows, locks, and power folding side mirrors work like a charm, and factory keyless entry makes entry and exit seamless. We’ve even retained the full set of factory carpeted floor mats which look dang good and help protect your upholstery underneath!
Mechanical Overview
This sturdy, body-on frame truck is powered by Toyota’s durable 2UZ-FE. Sold here in the States, this punchy and reliable V8 is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up promptly, care of a new 12v battery installed here in our shop. To keep the 4.7L on the up and up, a new engine air filter was installed as was a new fuel filter. We didn’t stop there as one of our trained techs replaced the serpentine belt too. The 2UZ roars through a Ganador catback exhaust, and remains reserved at interstate speeds so you’re not drowning out any conversation between passengers. Power is fed through a stout automatic and sent to all four wheels through a selective transfercase. Low range is available if needed and the center differential can be locked, too. The ride quality is fantastic and the Land Cruiser is truly prolific on pavement, with new rear upper control arms giving the suspension a new lease on life. For off-road excursions, there is decent ground clearance and the long wheelbase feels comfortable and planted even at higher speeds. We also took care of some labor intensive preventative maintenance by rebuilding the steering rack with new seals, bushings, and inner and outer tie rods. This is a must-do service on the 100 series platform and improves drivability tenfold. The ABS brakes benefit from new front pads and rotors and stop on a dime. The multipiece alloys are wrapped in fresh Falken rubber, which looks killer on this rig. Lastly, we performed a fresh four wheel alignment. She tracks straight as an arrow and is ready to conquer stateside terrain!
