Boasting a wheelbase longer than a Celsior, this spacious and safe saloon gobbles tarmac on the interstate, features a capable V6 sold in the US, and is fresh off a recent service.

Exterior Overview

Honda is a prestigious automaker, and this 2000 Legend was its flagship model when it rolled off the assembly line. Luxury usually comes at a price, but this refined and reliable sedan proved that you can have your cake and eat it, too. Boasting a wheelbase longer than a Celsior, this spacious and safe saloon gobbles up tarmac on the interstate, features a capable V6 sold in the US, and is fresh off a recent service. Offered with only 74k verified and documented miles on the clock, this White Pearl (NH-624P) five seater is set off by a set of upscale 18″ Rays Versus alloys and a set of optional OEM gold emblems. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the body is no worse for the wear, and this hearty Honda is turn-key and ready for a road trip. Competent as a daily driver, this unique, practical, and affordable KA9 is a certified Japanese Classic. Hauling the family around can be an exciting affair, and this lovely saloon certainly makes you feel special when behind the wheel!

Interior Overview

Stepping inside the cabin, it’s clear that this is not your run-of-the-mill Honda. Keyless entry allows for seamless access, and an automatic electric steering column powers up, maximizing space for entry. Power front seats with integrated airbags and heaters are wrapped in perforated leather. They add some contrast to the cabin and are highly comfortable. The same material can be found in the door cards, which are in equally good nick. The dashboard lacks any cracking or distortion, and dual SRS airbags protect those riding up front. The automatic digital climate control is easy to adjust and can send piping hot heat and cold air conditioning through the cabin. Below is a Pioneer headunit that powers up but is sadly frozen. Power windows, door locks, and electric folding mirrors all work in typical Honda fashion, improving daily use. The headliner and carpets have resisted major abuse over the years and aside from losing the power telescoping function of the steering column, it’s hard to critique the cabin.

Mechanical Overview

Tuned for luxury, the chassis gobbles up the pavement and offers a buttery smooth ride. The C35A engine is also a refined mill, and cranks to life promptly, care of a new 12v battery. A proper tune up was in order, and one of our trained techs installed a new fuel filter, new engine air filter, and six new spark plugs. We also replaced the leaky old valve cover gasket with a new one, so that the oil level stays on full. The V6 is a low vibration unit and makes good power. It’s linked to an automatic gearbox that shifts like a champ and this big sedan gets up to highway speeds quickly and cruises comfortably. It also slows down quickly thanks to ABS brakes and new front brake pads. The power steering is light and on point and a new steering rack boot was installed while it was on our lift. We also installed a front right axle seal before aligning the chassis. Best of all, four brand new shocks were installed, restoring the ride quality to its former glory. The tires are knee deep in tread and will last for a good long while to come, and you can feel safe hitting the road for a trip in this big body as soon as you leave the lot!
