The 90 series Land Cruiser Prado is certainly the most underrated model in the US. Likely because it's not immediately recognizable since it was never sold here. Don't let that hold you back, the 90 series is every bit as capable and reliable, and lives up to the name. That being said, it's also the best value available in the Land Cruiser line up! This 1996 example is finished in Toyota's smart Stellar Blue over Grey Two Tone (K14). The exterior is in wonderful condition and the paint shows very well for its age. There are of course a few minor dings and scuffs as you'd expect but the body is very straight and in great shape. A few OEM accessories added by the dealer include the OEM brush guard, tinted OEM rain visors, and the OEM spare tire cover. Best of all this rugged rig has just 89k verified and documented miles from new and is fresh off a recent service.
The redesigned interior of the 90 series is considerably better appointed than other Land Cruisers from the same era. With a more modern feel, nicer materials, and improved safety features the interior also boasts many creature comforts. The dash is in great condition showing no major UV damage and houses the passenger side SRS Airbag which was standard on the model. The driver is also equipped with a front airbag which resides in the excellent condition steering wheel. Front and center on the dash is a cool OEM gauge suite which gives you additional navigating information, and below is the OEM headunit although it won't pick up USDM radio stations it does function. The automatic climate control works great too and quickly warms up the occupants on these cold days, and once summer arrives provides cold A/C too. The seats are in great shape all the way back to the third row, which conveniently folds up and out of the way to provide additional stowage. There is some minor bolster wear on the driver seat, but otherwise nothing notable. The door panels while intact do have some heavier wear most of which is on the driver door which is visible in the photos. The fabric inserts are becoming delaminated as well on the others. Additionally, the powered driver mirror is no longer functional, but the passenger side works fine and manual adjustment of the driver side is quick and easy. That aside, the interior is in nice condition and even includes the original owners manual, a spare key, and some maintenance history from Japan.
