The name Del Sol means the sun which perfectly suits this revvy, fun, targa-top Honda. Lightweight and tactile, models like this 1994 are inexpensive to maintain, handle like they are on rails, and are a blast to daily drive. Finished in Captive Blue Pearl the body is in good shape other than some minor dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Offered with a mere 82K verified miles this recently serviced and legally imported Honda is a bonafide Japanese Classic. 

The interior has been kept up nicely over the years. Even the original owner's manual is included and still sits in the glovebox. The dash is in good shape, lacking any major imperfections such as distortion or cracking. There is a small adhesive mark by the glovebox and the driver's side seat bolster does have a tear to note, but hey, it's a 26-year-old car. Still, items like the headliner, door cards, and carpets look better than almost any stateside example. The only convenience upgrade is a Carrozzara head unit which works properly. It's simple to use, intuitive, and a huge plus on long drives. Power accessories include functional electric locks, windows, and mirrors. Even the back glass powers down to provide some additional ventilation when heading down the road. The seats are comfortable over long cruises and give off a sporty vibe with a matching blue accent stripe that ties the interior into the exterior. The automatic climate system is standard but we all know that open-air motoring is a much better experience. This Del Sol is a trans-top variant meaning that with a press of the button, the top could lift off an stow in the trunk. While the components are all there, the system doesn't fully function at this time. The good news is that the top is still removable if you want to get the real Targa experience, you just simply have to do some manually.

The mechanicals harken back to Honda's golden era. Nowadays vehicles are rolling computers, with added complexity and more parts than ever before. These early '90's vintage vehicles are analog by comparison and this Civic is a prime example of this. Powered by the legendary B16A, this 1.6L four-banger is fresh off an oil and filter service. This engine is ideal thanks to its wide availability of inexpensive parts, low cost of ownership, and wonderful build quality. She starts up quickly with the twist of a key and sets into a smooth idle. Power is fed to the front wheels via an automatic gearbox. The transmission shifts well and lacks any hesitation or clunking. The handling is decent, especially for a front-wheel-drive car. The EG-2 grips through the turns and the OEM suspension keeps it balanced. The struts are on the louder side, but then again these Hondas weren't exactly sold with a bunch of sound deadening. The OEM wheels were replaced with a set of 15" Volk Racing AV evolution alloys. These wheels look great, are lightweight, and come wrapped in new all-terrain tires that were mounted and balanced by one of our trained technicians. 

Honda produced some of the brand's best products during this era. The Del Sold is highly collectible for a few reasons; it's styling, driving dynamics, and playful nature are the epitome of Honda and make this ride a bonafide Japanese Classic.
