2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road

Toyota has always known how to make a good pickup, whether it’s built in Japan or the States. Enduring a remarkable 11 year production run, the second generation Tacoma model was one of the brand’s crowning achievements. It feels classic, like the Hilux models we’re so used to seeing, yet is modern in all the areas that count. Finished in Super White (040) this 2013 Tacoma boasts a crew cab, a 5 ft bed, and the highly coveted TRD off-road package. Spec’d out with a Rough Country 3.5″ lift, we’ve modernized this rig a bit, with new RPF1 alloys and BFGoodrich all-terrain rubber, and this pickup looks mean whether it’s crushing a campsite or pounding pavement. If you need a dependable daily with creature comforts, this reliable and safe Tacoma is a sure bet, and with 146k miles on the ticker, it’s barely broken in!

The sport mesh interior is a godsend for folks who plan to use this truck like a truck. It stands up well to use and abuse, and is comfortable enough to sustain longer hauls too. The upholstery is in good shape throughout, with only a few light stains associated with normal, American use. Power windows, locks, and power mirrors are all operable, and the factory infotainment works well. To pump in your tunes, Bluetooth functionality is on hand. Adjacent to the headunit, automatic climate control is easy to operate, and the A/C and heat work like a charm. Designed with safety in mind, dual front, side, and side curtain airbags protect your passengers nicely. The seats are free of major rips and tears, and the carpets have resisted the rigors of normal use. The rear bench has enough room to comfortably seat three additional passengers and the interior materials show well apart from some light steering wheel wear and a couple nicks in the door cards. As a whole, this cabin does about everything well, and should be easy to keep clean for years to come

Toyota V6’s are some of the best engines produced, and that includes the 1GR-FE under the bonnet of this pickup. This 4.0l is mated to a silky smooth 5-speed automatic box, and puts power to the rear tires, or all four if you so insist. Better yet, this TRD Off-Road features a functional rear locker, hill descent control, and numerous suspension upgrades to make your ventures off the beaten path fruitful. Upon arrival, our trained technicians performed an oil and filter service, and installed a new engine air filter to help the 4.0 breathe easily. We also installed new valve cover gaskets to shore up any unwanted leaks of lubricant. New spark plugs and coil packs aid ignition, and we buttoned everything up with a new accessory belt. The V6 engine makes enough power to get out of its own way, and the transmission does a great job at managing torque. 4WD is available on demand, with high and low gearing available at the turn of a dial. To shore up the drivetrain, a new front right CV shaft was also installed. Promoting superior ground clearance and handling dynamics, a full 3.5″ Rough Country lift upgrades the front struts, rear shocks and leaf springs, and front upper control arms with heavy-duty units. We also installed new front lower control arms, lower ball joints, and performed a fresh four-wheel alignment to make the most of this expensive suspension upgrade. The power steering is light and easy to maneuver, and the ABS brakes stop on a dime. The Enkei alloys are wrapped in 33″ BFG K03 All-Terrains. Not only do they look dang good, they’ll pay dividends off the beaten path if you encounter a mud bog!
