Interior Overview
The cabin condition is far above average, as you might expect from a car with so few miles. In fact, this might be the nicest cabin we have seen in years! Access is seamless thanks to functional factory keyless entry. The dashboard lacks any cracking or discoloration, and the steering wheel is almost mint. Dual SRS airbags are standard for those riding up front for added peace of mind. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column, and electric locks, power folding mirrors, and power windows all work in typical Toyota fashion. The black leather dealer option seats covers add an upscale feel, and lack any blemishes. The Japanese navigation screen looks flawless, and the center stack includes controls for the functional automatic climate control and OEM audio. The headliner, carpets, and door cards are in above average shape, and even the OEM carpet mats, maintenance booklets, and OEM owners manuals are included with the purchase.
Mechanical Overview
The nimble chassis, 50/50 weight distribution, and revvy 3S-GE Beams engine are one tasty combination. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 2.0L chugs to life immediately courtesy of a new American 12v battery. A new intake air filter was installed to maximize power, and the 3S is mated to a smooth-shifting automatic gearbox. Gear changes can be made via the steering wheel shifters, and power is sent to the rear wheels, as it should be in a proper sports sedan. The Altezza gets up to highway cruising speeds quickly and slows down promptly with its standard ABS. The power steering system was fully flushed and feels direct, providing decent feedback. The suspension handles great, and the ride never beats you up. Lastly, we mounted and balanced four new tires. The new rubber reduces road noise and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
