The Land Cruiser 100 is known for being high on substance, but this 2000 model is equally stylish. The aggressive, new 17″ Icon wheels and modern Toyota Earth Metallic (4Z1) paint are a perfect combo, and the body is in good shape, aside from some minor imperfections. Powered by a bulletproof V8, this 4×4 is fresh off a recent service and is offered with a mere 116k verified and documented miles on the clock. Safe, capable, and refined, these rigs make for formidable family haulers, wicked weekend overlanders, and are always standouts at the local Cars & Coffee events. Easy to service and highly collectible, these tough Toyotas are Japanese Classics for a million and one reasons!
Interior Overview
The cabin is well equipped and has loads of head, shoulder, and legroom. Both front occupants benefit from heated and power-adjustable seats. While the telescoping function has given up the ghost, the driver benefits from an electric tilt steering column adjustment and electric lumbar support. The tan leather cowhides add a premium feel to the cabin and are in good nick, aside from the typical age-induced cracks. Power folding mirrors, power locks, and electric windows all work in typical Toyota fashion, making daily use more enjoyable. The large infotainment screen is simple to use and includes many of the climate selection settings. The A/C is cold, the heat is hot, and if you prefer more natural ventilation, the rear quarter glass pops outward, and a large panoramic moonroof can tilt or be fully retracted. The OEM audio sounds decent, and standard cruise control makes road trips more manageable. The headliner is in good shape, as are the door cards, and the carpets have withstood the past quarter century without any major blemishes. We even have the Japanese owners’ manuals still on hand for the new buyer to enjoy!
Mechanical Overview
This rugged SUV is built atop a robust body-on-frame platform. It can withstand loads of abuse, and the 2UZ-FE engine can do the same. Lifting the bonnet is a stress-free affair as we installed new hood shocks when it got into the shop. An oil and filter service was immediately performed, and we installed a new 12V battery to aid quick ignition. A new fuel filter and engine air filter were replaced as part of our tune-up, and the DOHC engine feels hearty as a horse. It’s linked to a smooth-shifting automatic that feeds power to both axles. There is a low range and center locker available should any loose surfaces be encountered. We shored up the driveline with new inner axle boot clamps, and the Land Cruiser puts power to the ground without interruption. It gets up to highway speed without breaking a sweat and can slow down confidently with standard ABS and new rear brake pads. The suspension offers tons of ground clearance and can withstand the rigors of daily use and abuse. Lastly, we mounted and balanced four new 33″ Falken tires at each corner. The new rubber quells road noise, looks mean, and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.

CARB certifications will have to be performed within the state. Depending on the vehicle and any existing modifications will affect the pricing. Typically CARB compliance will range between 5-10K.
