Exterior Overview
The Land Cruiser is an SUV that is built to last. Rough terrain and extreme temperatures are no match for this 1999 VX Limited. Finished in a one-off Belford Black, this lifted rig is set off by new 17″ Fifteen52 alloys, LED tail lamps, an OEM spoiler, privacy tint, and one-off dual exhaust. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the paint is in fine shape, and this V8-powered hauler is fresh off a recent service. Interior Overview
The cabin is spacious and nicely optioned. Upgrades include a sweet Pioneer touchscreen radio that pipes in the tunes and comes preloaded with some great Japanese music, and includes Bluetooth integration. The driver benefits from an electric lumbar inflator, tilt-adjusting steering column, and power folding mirrors, power locks, and power windows. The center stack is easily accessible and includes a simple-to-use automatic climate system. The A/C blows ice cold, and the heat is piping hot for these last remaining winter days. If you prefer more natural ventilation, a large panoramic moonroof tilts and retracts, and the rear quarter glass pops outward. The seats are covered with classy classic leather seat covers. The rear row split folds and slides forward to accommodate more cargo. The headliner is in good shape, and the door cards and the carpets have resisted major wear aside from some light soiling.
Mechanical Overview
The 2UZ-FE V8 is an incredible powerplant. They last forever, are easy to service, and create decent power. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 4.7L churns to life courtesy of a new 12V battery. A new engine air filter, new fuel filter, and new spark plugs were installed as part of our tune-up. One of our trained technicians replaced the valve cover gaskets, as they were leaking, and the 2UZ feels healthy as a horse. Power is fed through a stout automatic gearbox to a Full-Time 4WD system. It gets up to highway speeds without breaking a sweat, and for your off-roading adventures, a low range and center locking differential can be engaged to maximize traction. If you need to slow down in a jiffy, ABS is standard, and new front and rear brake pads work to keep stopping distances short. The ride quality is above average, and we have refreshed many of the components. A new Eibach 2.5″ lift kit was installed, and we replaced the front sway bar links and bushings, the right front ball joint, and the rear upper control arms. We also rehabbed the steering system with a rack rebuild. New fluid was flushed in, and we replaced the rack bushings and inner and outer tie rods so we could dial in the proper alignment. The Fifteen52 alloy wheels are wrapped in new 33″ rubber. The new tires look mean, quell road noise, and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
