Exterior Overview
Sharing a drivetrain with the beloved Mk4 Supra, the Toyota Aristo is a killer daily driver that’s also quite easy to modify, maintain, and enjoy! Our 1999 V300 is chock full of premium upgrades and is finished in one of the rarest colors for the chassis. Only 225 Dark Green Mica (6Q7) V300 Aristos were produced, and this one is an excellent example overall. Showing a few minor blemishes, chips, and dings from daily use, the exterior is no worse for the wear, and the 88k verified and documented miles on the clock do a lot to aid this twin-turbo tourer’s desirability. Set off by Tom’s front and rear bumpers, Tom’s side skirts, an optional OEM carbon license plate surround, and black 18″ Enkei TS10 wheels, the sport saloon aesthetic is nicely done without being too over the top. Fast, fun, and constructed with the premium build quality you’ve come to expect from Toyota, this Japanese Classic is far from your average Lexus, and can be considered the perfect daily driver!
Interior Overview
Optioned with rare color keyed upholstery inside, this black and green cockpit is one for the ages. The seating surfaces are in above average shape, lacking major rips, stains, or tears typical of vehicle of this vintage. The power bucket seats operate seamlessly as does the electric tilt and telescoping steering column. Dual front and SRS airbags came standard for any worst case scenarios, and the headliner, carpets, and door cards are tidy, resisting any major distortion or other UV related defects. The dash houses a simple to use dual zone climate control system and modern touch screen Pioneer audio. Audiophiles will appreciate the Apple CarPlay integration, and the performance crowd will likely prefer the adjacent gauge suite, complete with meters by HKS and Defi. Complete with meters for voltage, oil pressure, oil temp, and water temperature, the driver can monitor the basics and feel good cruising this Aristo on longer journeys. All four power windows are automatic, and the power locks and electric folding side mirrors work as advertised. The rear bench and trunk are spacious, and there’s virtually no major defects apart from some light wear to the drivers seat bolster. To preserve the history of this Aristo, we’ve retained the factory carpet mats, and two spare keys. Even a snazzy Silkblaze steering wheel was installed in Japan to complement the rest of this cherry cockpit!
Mechanical Overview
The 2JZ-GTE under the bonnet is a standout feature of these sport sedans and this generation Aristo was the first to debut with VVT-i technology as well. Ours is fresh off a recent service, cranks over with the help of a new 12v battery, and has a few nifty performance modifications to please the enthusiast. An oil and filter service was performed, and a Greddy oil cooler and oil filter relocation kit assist with cooling and changing your internal lubricant. This GTE receives some auditory assistance via upgraded intercooler hard piping, and a Tom’s catback exhaust. The timing belt and water pump were recently replaced in Japan, and after our technicians installed new camshaft seals, this JZS161 was ready to get its first taste of stateside pavement. It runs and drives like a dream, and the 4 speed automatic gearbox shifts through the tree predictably. To help this sedan crush state inspection, new front caster arm bushings were installed, and we installed new ARS arms in the rear to dial in handling. The power steering is direct, fresh off a fluid exchange, and upgraded MK4 Supra front brakes help this super sedan stop on a dime. The Enkeis are wrapped in good Bridgestone Potenza rubber. Ideal for warm climate hooning, they’ll keep you glued to the tarmac for tens of thousands of miles to come!
