Exterior Overview
Diminutive in size, but not in spirit, the 1999 Jimny is a real body-on-frame off-roader. The short wheelbase, impressive ground clearance, and short overhangs all come in handy when meandering off the beaten path, and this recently serviced 1.3L example is turn key, and ready to rock. Offered with only 112k verified and documented miles on the clock, this 4×4 is barely broken in. Finished in a classic Polar White (26U), we wanted to note age-related clearcoat loss and that the passenger fender was replaced in Japan. Still, aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use, the body shows well and the frame is in far above average shape compared to your normal Jimny. Adorned by an aggressive OEM rear spoiler, OEM rainguards, OEM mudflaps, and a rear hatch mounted spare, the bad boy aesthetic is all there, and a Suzuki sport exhaust and aftermarket multipiece alloys set this compact cruiser off. Fun as a city runabout, beach cruiser, or as a tiny yet tenacious trail truck, this Japanese Classic punches far above its weight.

Interior Overview
The strange thing about riding up front in a Jimny is that it feels like a regular driving experience instead of dinky microcar motoring. The tall ride height allows you to see above traffic and the dashboard is low-lying. The seats also promote ample head and legroom, and the cabin can fit four normal-sized occupants nicely. The dash lacks any cracking or fading and includes a sizable glovebox. The center stack is close by with A/C and heat on standby to keep the cockpit comfortable. We have installed a brand new USDM BOSS head unit below the climate controls to supplement your commute. It allows for safe hands-free use thanks to Bluetooth technology. A Volanti wood grain steering wheel feels good in the palms of your hands and adds a sporty aesthetic. The tan upholstery is in good shape, too, and lacks any major rips, stains, or tears, The rear row can also split-fold when additional cargo room is desired. For improved daily use the power windows and locks work like a charm. The headliner and door cards are in good shape, as are the door cards, and although there is some minor bolster wear on the driver’s seal, its clear this Suzuki was cared for in a prior life overseas. Even the OEM carpet mats are included with the purchase.

Mechanical Overview
Under the skin, this ladder-chassis rig is as tough as they come. The same can be said for the G13B four-banger, which is fresh off a recent service. To keep it running tip-top, one of our trained technicians performed a coolant flush, which is recommended every four years. We also installed four new spark plugs for proper fuel combustion. The 1.3L is linked to a five-speed manual gearbox. It shifts like a charm, and it is a blast to wring out the little four-cylinder. We rehabbed the five-speed with a new output seal, too. The Jimny pulls hard to redline and the driver can choose to motor in two or four-wheel drive. For low traction scenarios, a low-range 4WD is also available to be selected. We refreshed the driveline with a hub rebuild and new sway bar links were installed prior to this SUV’s state inspection. The brakes feel responsive and the steering is easy to articulate, and the tiny exterior dimensions make this easy to park. The aftermarket 15″ are wrapped in brand new 27″ Falken rubber. Freshly aligned, they will last for a good long while to come and this truck tracks straight as an arrow.
