Exterior Overview
Once forbidden fruit here in the states, and now a car show parking lot staple, Nissan’s Skyline has certainly paid its dues, and some might say the R34 coupe is the best of the bunch! Our 1998 GTT is a fine unit, finished in Cloud White (QM1) with some slick OEM optional Altia aero, 18″ BBS LM wheels, and is lowered on Ohlins coilovers. The aesthetic is strictly business, and the 126k verified and documented miles on the clock indicate this one was well maintained, and pampered in a prior life. Save for some small paint imperfections, and a noted replacement of the right front fender, there’s nearly nothing to complain about, and subtle privacy tint and a factory rear wing ties everything together. A legend from the tarmac to the big screen, we couldn’t be happier with this clean, well-modified R34 and it goes without saying, this is one heck of a Japanese Classic to own!

Interior Overview
Completely redesigned for its 10th generation, the R34’s cockpit is about as close to a modern commuter as you can find at our dealership. Durable materials, abundant safety features, and a full slate of power amenities make this coupe easy to own, and the condition speaks for itself. Upholstered in a two-tone sport mesh, the seats stand up to normal wear and tear like a champ and show no discernible defects. The matching door card upholstery is also in good nick, as are the carpets and headliner above. The dash houses dual SRS airbags, which came standard on this chassis, and the center stack has both digital climate control and premium OEM audio on tap for when you need it. Trudging into the spring and summer months, cold A/C is at the ready and is freshly serviced so you can enjoy the drive from day one, and an optional power moonroof also tilts and unfurls rapidly. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column, and power windows, power folding mirrors, and locks make daily use a walk in the park. The factory gauge pod is intact, but the instrumentation has been switched to an aftermarket boost gauge, which reads in PSI to satisfy the American owner. Save for an inoperable OEM DVD player, the cabin is hard to critique as a whole. In fact, we even retained the factory carpet mats to help you feel good about your classic JDM investment!

Mechanical Overview
Bolstered with NEO VVL technology, and fresh off a comprehensive recent service, the RB25DET under the bonnet is the stuff of legends. We replaced the 12v battery to aid ignition, and flushed out all the old lubricant with fresh oil and a new filter. We also preemptively changed out the fuel pump and filter to keep your petrol flowing freely. An Apexi intake and HKS catback exhaust enhance the 2.5T’s auditory appeal, and free up a few ponies to boot. The I-6 revs happily to redline and the factory slushbox was ditched in favor of a much more responsive manual transmission. Recently swapped with new OEM components, the five speed grabs gears with ease and power is thrown rearward with haste. Top of the line Ohlins shocks deliver enhanced handling and response, and are plenty comfortable for daily driving. The ABS brakes hold strong and the power steering is feather weight to boot. For a bit of drivetrain rehab, we installed a new inner HICAS arm at the left rear, as well as a new front right outer tie rods. The last line of defense between you and the pavement, the BBS alloys are wrapped in nearly new Michelin rubber, and this R34 received a four-wheel alignment to maximize tire life. Attractive, comfortable, and reliable, they’ll deliver plenty of grip in all conditions for tens of thousands of miles to come!
