Stock #5977Nissan's Y33 is one of the best values in the Japanese luxury sedan segment, and with examples like this 1998 it's easy to see why. Our Cedric has withstood the better part of three decades with no major cosmetic defects outside of some slight discoloration on some panels, and a noticeable dent in the rocker panel on the left side of the vehicle. Wearing a slick shade of Sierra Silver Metallic (KR4) and sporting a revised facelift front end and refinished factory alloys, this 46k verified mile V6 RWD cruiser would make a prime weekend warrior or a formidable daily driver. Whatever direction you choose to go, this five-seater is a certified Japanese Classic.Even though this cabin can comfortably seat five, the interior materials are no worse for the wear and the patterned grey cloth is still soft to the touch while nicely complementing the amenity-packed interior. The door cards in the front and rear, as well as the cabin headliner still look tip-top with no rips or tears, and the upholstery lacks any rips, stains, or tears typically found on vehicles of this vintage. It's easy to feel safe behind the wheel, as dual front and side SRS airbags came standard for 1998, giving you and your passengers some much needed peace of mind. All four power windows work as advertised alongside power folding mirrors, and power locks with factory keyless entry! The OEM headunit is still alive and kicking and the sound quality is above average to boot. Adjacent to the audio, digital automatic climate control works like a charm and churns out cold A/C and hot heat at a moment's notice. The dash lacks any unwanted cracks or age related distortion, and the lower woodgrain dash trim was nicely kept by the previous owner as well. To further protect your investment, we've retained the factory owner's manual and privacy tint protects the interior from both prying eyes and the harsh rays of the sun!The VG20E under the bonnet is reliable and frugal to maintain and service. A humble 6 pot and the most economical engine option in this chassis, we've performed a once-over on the 2.0 to ensure smooth operation for the road ahead. A new 12v battery was installed to aid ignition, and we performed a fresh oil and filter service and replaced the fuel filter as a bit of a preemptive tune up. Other than that, it's evident this Cedric was well cared for in a prior life as the V6 runs like a top and holds sustained highway speeds just fine for a smaller powerplant. We did want to note some engine clatter can be heard at lower rpm, but its hardly noticeable, and we have driven the Nissan over 300 miles at this point and it seems strong as an ox. While the low end is a bit lacking, the VG20E excels in smoothness up top, with the automatic transmission delivering power to the rear wheels without issue. The suspension is well composed and handles road imperfections with ease, and ABS brakes are on hand to halt this one if needed. Lastly, we put fresh Falken rubber on all four corners to get you on track for tens of thousands of miles of uninterrupted, right hand drive fun!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
