Exterior Overview
There’s a lot to love about Toyota’s 100 series Land Cruiser. These bulletproof rigs are beloved for their civil demeanor on pavement and their ability to absolutely crush it off the beaten path, without lacking an ounce of refinement. Our 1998 VX Limited is a special truck, boasting just 57k verified and documented miles from new. It’s also a looker, with clean Pearl White (057) paintwork, OEM door guards, a neat optional spare tire swingarm and hardshell cover, OEM rainguards, and brand new ICON alloys. Save for a few rock chips, the cosmetics leave little to be desired overall, and this Cruiser is stunning compared to our well-loved examples stateside. Touting the mileage, options, and condition most enthusiasts yearn for, this UZJ100 is a unique unit, an off-road hero, and a bonafide Japanese Classic.
Interior Overview
Optioned with rare tan cowhides, the interior of this Cruiser is impressive, as the materials have resisted any unwanted cracks, fading, or tears that plague our well-loved stateside cockpits. Sure, they show a few stress marks from daily use, but overall the upholstery is in above average condition. The material stretches all the way back to an optional third row, which can drop down if you have additional passengers in tow. The dash complements the cabin nicely, with woodgrain accents and soft touch tan vinyl. It houses dual SRS airbags to keep your forward occupants safe, and the driver gains a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel to find a comfortable piloting position. Positioned centrally, a factory touch screen integrates your audio and climate controls, where the latter doles out cold A/C and hot heat on command. If you prefer natural ventilation, an expansive power moonroof slides fore and aft with ease, complementing the full suite of power windows. Power locks work well, with functional keyless entry, and the mirrors fold in at the push of a button if you decide to parallel park. We love the 100’s cabin for its versatility, and both driver and passenger gain power adjustable seats up front, with heaters to keep your tushies warm. The headliner is clean, and the carpets have been sheathed by OEM mats. That’s not to say this 27 year old cabin is perfect, as the center console coolbox and the rear air conditioning no longer operate. Still, this is a solid example, and we think the next owner will be nothing but pleased with the condition.
Mechanical Overview
The 2UZ-FE under the bonnet has a reputation that precedes itself quite frankly. This 4.7 V8 is known to be nearly unstoppable, and we’ve bolstered this truck with some good service for the road ahead. It cranks over with haste, thanks to a newly installed 12v battery here at the shop, and we performed an engine oil and filter service to get you on track for future maintenance schedules. To keep contaminants out of this 8 cylinder, we installed a new engine air filter and fuel filter. It jets right up to highway speeds, and power is hammered down by one of Toyota’s best automatic transmission designs to date. It sends torque to all four wheels, and for true off-roaders a center locking differential and low range come in handy. Factory height adjustable suspension keeps the chassis planted to the pavement, and it features electronic damping adjustment to fine-tune your ride quality on the fly. We installed new rear upper and lower control arms, rear sway bar links and bushings, and front swaybar links to get the drivetrain compliant for Virginia state safety inspection. The power steering is surprisingly light on this behemoth, and the nitrogen assisted ABS brakes keep stopping distances to a minimum. Lastly, we wrapped the ICON wheels in brand new Falken all terrains. They look killer, and are primed to deliver tens of thousands of miles of fun filled cruising to come!

CARB certifications will have to be performed within the state. Depending on the vehicle and any existing modifications will affect the pricing. Typically CARB compliance will range between 5-10K.
