A van, by its design, is a multipurpose vehicle. Used for shuttling the kids, hauling a load of furniture back home, or even tucked away at the campground, these transporters serve a purpose! This 1997 is a terrific example of a clean platform to put to use. Fresh off a recent service, this 4WD turbodiesel Toyota Granvia is turn-key ready to rock and is offered with only 83k verified and documented miles on the ticker. We wanted to note the rear bumper that was replaced in Japan, but the Grayish Green Metallic over Blackish Green Metallic (2AZ) is in good shape aside from only a few minor dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Accessorized by refinished Pajero alloys, OEM rain guards, a set of nerf bars and privacy tint, this terric Toyota is quite the looker. Capable, refined, and spacious, this Japanese Classic is useful, affordable and efficient, too.

The cabin steals the show thanks to the wild graphic seat covers, and it's spacious and nicely appointed to boot. The view of the road ahead is clear and commanding and the dashboard lacks any cracking or fading. Dual SRS airbags are standard and add some peace of mind for those seated up front. A Pioneer touchscreen headunit functions well and the automatic dual zone climate control are located above. Chock full of rare options and equipment, the factory DVD player may be the coolest of the bunch and stows away into the body for a more streamlined look. The A/C and heat works properly and rear occupants have their own controls, too. The upholstery is in above average shape under the covers and lacks any major rips, stains or tears. The cloth is soft to the touch and comfortable on longer trips, and the middle row can be swiveled 180 degrees to face the rear! Power folding mirrors, electric locks and power windows all work as advertised making daily use even more enjoyable, and a front and rear sunroof add plenty of natural light and ventilation to the cabin. The panoramic middle assembly powers open for a convertible like experience. Even the side glass pops out for an additional breeze. The headliner, door cards and carpets are in fine shape and have withstood the past 25 years without sustaining major damage. Clearly cared for in a prior life, the Granvia swaddles those privileged enough to ride within the friendly confines, and the features are incredible!

These rigs are tough and hearty and are perfect for areas with unpredictable weather and rough terrain. The engine is robust and is fresh off a recent oil and filter service. The 1KZ-TE churns to life care of a new 12v battery. A new engine air filter and fuel filter were also installed, for good measure. To keep this 3.0TD topped up on oil we replaced the valve cover gasket. The four cylinder is linked to an automatic gearbox that suits the engine powerband nicely. Traction comes from a full time 4WD system that can handle sand, snow and mud with confidence. To sweeten the deal, we've also performed a fluid flush on the front and rear differentials, and transfer case. The power steering is light and on point thanks to new tie rods on the front left and the ABS brakes confidently slow down this van with ease. The suspension is soft and handles large and small potholes without breaking a sweat. The long wheelbase pays dividends on the highway and this platform feels more stable on the freeway than a HiAce or Delica. To complete the shop work, we installed new all-season tires at each corner. We even threw it up on the rack for a fresh alignment so they'll provide tens of thousands of miles to come!
